GNC sells a 2mg copper supplement. But be sure to take it after a meal. Made me

real sick to my stomach when I took it before a meal.

We must have adequate cooper to absorb iron. Zinc/vit-C lowers copper. So we

must take copper supps!

This is why I was worried about changing vitamins to one that didn't have

copper. I take 50mg Zinc and 3g vit-C a day plus already have low iron. Take

iron pills now.

I found this stuff and it looks like the same copper that the Cranton's have.

Plus it is BOGO right now.

I just found a great link I have been looking for to post about this here is a

cut and past from it.

Zinc should be taken at one meal and copper at another because each mineral

interferes with the other’s absorption.

What goes on with multi vitamins the that have everything in? I was on one

from the doctor called Forceval, I know that v-c is needed for

iron absorption and I also know that folate is required for the uptake of

B12 so don't these multi's work?

Dave,

Thanks for the tip about Swanson.  Have you had blood tests--before and

after--to see if supplements brought you to normal levels?

Thanks,

I get all my supplements from Swanson.

http://www.swansonv itamins.com/ Search?keyword= copper & doSearch= true & ntt=

& n=0 & ntk= Level1 & x= 0 & y=0

>

>

> I have read more than once that anyone taking zinc supplements- -which I think

may help with insulin sensitivity, and prostate problems--will experience a

reduction in copper levels. So you need to take a copper supplement (say 3 mg)

to restore that loss.

> I've looked in Rite-Aid, Wal-Mart and one or two other chain pharmacies, but

don't find copper alone.  Just one product combining " Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc

and Copper. "  But it gave 100% RDA of the other minerals, while only 50% RDA of

the copper (1mg). To get the 3mg I find I need--RDA's are often too low--I'd

need to take three times the RDA for these other minerals!!!!

> My multivit/mineral pill also already gives me 100% RDA of zinc but only 35%

of copper.

> Does anyone know a chain that stocks plain(?) copper tablets--or how else are

people dealing with this need?
