Guest guest
I am not a Dr. and I can't say I ever heard of this but I have heard Dr.'s say all kinds of crap that TRT dose and they don't know WTF they are talking about. But yes see the Uro get checked out but don't let this Uro take you off TRT so he can do labs to see what your T levels are this is Bull Shi* and tells them nothing. If you have a problem and need to come off TRT get a 2nd. opinion. Guest guest
Dear I personally would explore the root cause of this so called cyst, but also realize that the odds of it being a malignant tumor are low. Your doctors are very correct in discovering the cause of the cyst quickly, so as that have the time need to give the proper treatment should the worse would happen. I have become very knowledgeable on these subjects along the road of very hard knocks. You see I was born with one of my testis being undescend and at age ten I had surgery to correct it. In my case I was Intersex and some female bits and pieces where found in me that where removed. The bad thing is nothing was said to my parents at all about what was found in my body. My medical history was pieced together many years later. Well that isn't completely true a nurse did come into my room and tell me they saved me from becoming a GIRL and that was all. Can you imagine anyone walking up to a ten year old and tell them that. After two surgeries over a two year period I was sent home with a worrying that I could develop cancer and to watch myself for any changes. Even before I had this surgery I knew I was in some way bi-gender, not bi-sexual, bi-gender. There is a huge difference. Now fast forward many years, it seem like a whole life time. I was returning from a Grandmas marathon and noticed that testis that I had surgery on as a child was growing and in fact was very hard to the touch. Three days later I saw the doctor and he said it wasn't cancer and was most likely just fluid that would go away after a few weeks, don't worry, just come back in a month. A month later I came back and this was still growing. Now remember this was the days just before the Internet and we lived in extreme northern Minnesota, so access to any information was almost imposable. But my wife does work at the clinic and my major is biology, so I studied everything I could on this subject. What I found was that a (Alpha Feto Protein AFP) test was called for, so I returned and asked about having one done. This doctor told me I didn't have cancer as I was too old to have it, but he would have a Ultrasound done to rule out a tumor, but no AFP test. Now another three or four weeks passed before a radiologist could do this test. When I saw her she was acting very strange and then I realized that she was dying of embarrassment for having to do an ultrasound on a man testis and this carried over to the nurse Teck in the room. She took a quick look and said it was nothing but fluid, even though I protested that the under laying tissue felt as hard as a rock. She turn to me saying this was in my head and would just go away in time. Then I suggested maybe we could settle this question by trying to draw a sample out with a needle. No! she said its just fluid and they walked out of the room. When they rounded the corner a male nurse was standing there listening to what happened to me and just gave me the strange smile, then started walking with the doctor. I became mad but only told my wife about what happened. Two weeks later I went back to the first doctor and he wouldn't do anything, but at last he said lets just remove this testis as this had become atrophy after surgery as a child and never grew more than .75 inch long. At last I'm making progress. NOT Three months and I couldn't get in for surgery, then Christmas came, no surgery till after the first of the year. At last it was time for surgery the surgeon want to do this with a local anesthetic, OK with me. They cut me open and the room fell quiet. I ask Him One thing, is it malignant, YES. This so called fluid turned out to be a solid mass 2.5-3 inches around and all of a sudden I went to stage 3-4 cancer. This was just the beginning of my horror story. The next seven months was pure hell. On one hand I got great care and on the other hand hospitals, nurses and even doctors almost killed me from gross errors only to be saved by someone at the last possible moment. Twice I died and left my body only to be pulled back to life. The very first test that was done on me after the malingnacy was found was an (Alpha feto Protein test), the test I asked for over six months before, but my doctor refused to do. The pathology of the so called testis turned to be an (OVARY) and not a testis. I wasn't crazy like I thought, well maybe just a little. lol I was intersex and many of us manifest our symptoms in the form of having hypogondism, not all but SOME. For you I would suggest an Ultrasound as first line of defense, then an AFP test and then try maybe to draw a sample of fluid if your doctor thinks that would help. Don't be a passive fool like I was and almost die because of it. I cannot believe I was so passive and haven't come to physiological terms with that. Today I live everyday, as the person I am and not what someone thinks I should be. Hello Everyone, I went to my PCP today to have the puffiness inside my scrotum checked out. After feeling the problematic area, he said he believed it is a cyst of some sort, which is related to testosterone replacement therapy. So, I now have a referral to a urologist along with everything else. The PCP thinks the urologist might want to do an ultrasound as well. Do I have anything to worry about? And, if so, what should I look for? Does anyone know of a reason why TRT might have caused the cyst? . -- If ever I said, in grief or pride, I tired of honest things, I lied:
Guest guest
Dear Hannah, I much appreciate your story and your advice. As I begin, please know that what I am about to say isn't easy for me to write. I've always known my gender was split and that I was likely neither exclusively male, nor exclusively female. If this means I am bi-gender, then I will accept the label graciously. My family, particularly my parents, weren't very accepting or understanding of this when I was growing up. So I learned to be ashamed of who I am. And I for sure didn't dare voice this among other men because we as a society still believe that to be " less " masculine somehow means that one is less of a man. But because of the bravery of what you said in the company of complete strangers, I felt I needed to be just as honest. I don't think doctors ever uncovered anything to indicate that I was intersex at birth, though I know that doesn't necessarily have to be the case. The way I feel inside is proof that gender isn't cut and dry with me, though I'd love to have some medical evidence to confirm it. Being intersex would answer lots of questions I've held privately for years, at least partially. And it might be a jumping off point for further examination, both with medicine and within myself. I will certainly follow your recommendations. Perhaps if I do indeed have an ovary then it might improve my treatment . As it stands now, I've just counted it up. I am seeing three separate specialists, and each of them is only treating symptoms of a much larger, very perplexing problem. They're not quite sure about a cause yet and I suspect it will be a while later for that. Every piece of the puzzle I get tells me something, but it would be wonderful to know something, anything for certain. One has to start somewhere. In gratitude, . -- If ever I said, in grief or pride, I tired of honest things, I lied:
Guest guest
Dear kevin If you have questions in regards to being intersex or not go to the International Intersex Organization website. There are so many combinations of conditions that can be classified as being intersex. Look to nature and you will see that being by-gender is very common. Some people are what I called brain determined gender or people that have no intersex features in their body. Then there are people like me that have female parts. I believe the vast majority of people have brain determined gender. Science is starting to show that this theory has strong merit. Remember courage doesn't have a gender, a race or a religion. I would really be surprised if every person was in fact a form of gender hybrid. You and I are just an extreme example of what it means to be human, what is wrong with that? I also came from an enviroment with a clear division between genders and I became very good at strutting my 125 lb. 5'11 " 19 year old body around. A real bean pole, mother would call me. Yet I did fall in love, married and have been that way for 37 years. I lost the will to be a males male years ago and have become a better human being because of it. Think of yourself as gender multitasking, a gender mosaic, a good person H ________________________________ From: Camp <cabaretic@...> Sent: Thu, April 14, 2011 10:04:05 PM Subject: Re: Testicular Cyst? Guest guest
Thank you Phil I also had 4 by-passes in 2008 and know how painful that surgery is. Unfortunately the under laying cause of us having hypogonadism causes so many other health issues in our lives. That is one reason I joined this group, to keep myself educated to protect myself from medical mistakes. Guest guest
I think we both had fools for doctors. There are many ways of controllingcholesterol in the body with statins being just one. I take Lipitor as just one of my medications and haven't have problems but there have been many medications that have caused me problems in the past for other illnesses. As a side note the chemotherapy I took destroyed the nerves in my limbs and I spent a time in a wheelchair. Over the years the damage has healed a great deal, but I still take medications for nerve pain. My guess is you suffer from soft tissue damage and that may heal with time. In my case it has taken 12 years and I do feel better. I hope the same applies to you. I just wish when they put me on Statin Drugs and I told them I did not want to take them because I never had high Chol. levels in my life my blockages were due to low Hormones mostly Growth Hormone. I family went through he** being with me in ICU around the clock so they got dam upset when I told Dr.'s I would not take Statin Drugs. So I did now I am crippled from then can't walk with out a walker and need pain pills to help with the dam pain I am in from them. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2010/07/20/the-truth-about-st\ atin-drugs-revealed.aspx http://www.spacedoc.net/muscle_pain_statins.htm I can't tell you how mad I am about this time after time when I seen my Dr.'s on avg. every 8 weeks I told them I can't take this pain from them Statin Drugs but they would not listen to me until last Sept. I could not stand up or walk. Now they know every thing about how this happened from them Statin Drugs and how to treat me. But still it's been months and the best I can do now is walk in a pool of water for an hour 3x's a week.
