Guest guest
I believe it depends on how low your T is. How old are you and post your lab work with the ranges. This is required for someone like Phil to give you good advice on the subject matter. I do know the cream tends to covert to Estradio more so than the shots. But I think depending on your labs, age, lifestyle etc is the best way is best to determine which option is best for you. Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile Cream vs Shot for Testosterone replacement Hey Group, I'm a newby so I apologize for the redundant question. My doc gave me the option to do testerone cream or the injection and I'm hoping to get some opinions on the pros and cons of both. I am leaning towards the cream as it seems to be more consistent then the injection. Any info is greatly appreciated. Guest guest
Did they test anything else? Especially estradiol. Post all your lab work with the ranges. Guest guest
Mike, I started TRT with compounded T. It didn't work well for me. It may or may not work for you. Absorption through the skin is the problem. If I were you, I'd go with the T cypionate. With the injectable, you know it's in your body. Doseage may then need to be adjusted. > > Hey Group, > > I'm a newby so I apologize for the redundant question. Guest guest
Mike, I am 31 years old and started TRT back in November. I had testicular cancer and lost a tesricle. For some reason or another my testosterone was 270. I started out on Androgel and it never really boosted mt numbers. I went to injections which I like because its only once a week and I don't have to think about it. When you do gels and creams you have to put it on every morning. This seems like a minor inconvience but it does get old. The shots are really no big deal if you get a 25g or 27g needle. The only real pain is maybe a day after you can be a little sore as if you worked out on that muscle. It sounds like you have a good Dr. Is he a urologist? > > > > Hey Group, > > > > I'm a newby so I apologize for the redundant question. Guest guest
If you don't have a Health Care Drug Plain and you need to pay for Androgel or Testim your self it's the highest cost for TRT out there. If you go with a compounded cream or gels Drug plains most don't pay for them but they cost less and work. But if you have a thyroid problem your skin can get thicker and the gels and creams will not get through your skin. So if you try this get tested after your on time 2 weeks. When we add T to the body any dose it shuts down the brain from sending the LH and FSH messages to your testis and they shot making T. So if the gel or cream is not getting through your skin or the dose is not enough your levels can go up then fall back down so do check them in 2 weeks and check Estradiol. Shots work fine we use a smaller size needle 27g 1ml.x 1/2 " lg. and shoot into the thigh. Some men don't stay level for the week. And you need to do your shots every week starting with 100 mgs. We have found doing them 2x's a week or even every 3 days keeps up leveled and holds down Estradiol levels. Also when adding T your LH and FSH stops being sent to your body by your brain. So adding HCG keeps them cells and your testis working. On gels or creams men do 250 IU's every 3 days on shots they do 250 IU's the 2 days each before there next T shot. With men doing shots 2x's a week or every 3 days they do 250 IU's the day before each shot. Go to Dr. 's site www.allthingsmale.com and read TRT: A Recipe for Success and his HCG Update. He is one of the best male hormone Dr.'s out there and puts this on his site free for you and your Dr. It's not hard to get leveled off all one needs to do is get there Total T levels up into the upper 1/3 of there labs range for a young man and keep there Estradiol levels down to between 20 to 30 pg/ml. Then go by how you feel for your T levels. http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=450553 Co-Moderator Phil > From: Rouse <michael.hugh.rouse@...> > Subject: Cream vs Shot for Testosterone replacement > > Date: Sunday, April 18, 2010, 2:01 PM > Hey Group, > > I'm a newby so I apologize for the redundant > question. Guest guest
Mike do you get involuntary nocturnal erections appear that during REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. Or have a loss of libido and some ED problems I ask this because your Estradiol with a SHBG of 26 could come down to about 18. And if this works your T levels can go up some 200 to 300 Points getting Estradiol levels down. Read this link and do you drink Soy Milk or eat a lot of Soy this is bad for men. In this link it's about older men but I have seen this happen to younger men. http://jcem.endojournals.org/cgi/content/full/89/3/1174 http://www.medibolics.com/ArimidexBoostsTestosterone.htm http://www.lef.org/magazine/mag2008/nov2008_Dangers-of-Excess-Estrogen-in-the-Ag\ ing-Male_01.htm http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html Co-Moderator Phil > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I believe it depends on how low your T is. > > > > > > How old are you and post your lab work with the > ranges.
