Guest guest
Yes switch to shots this happens to some men and they can't do gels. Start with 100mgs of Test C shots every week. I use a small 27g 1ml. x 1/2 " lg. needle and shoot into my thigh. Also add in some HCG doing 250 IU's the 5th and 6th days each after your T shot this helps keep you leveled and keeps your testis working so they don't get small. Read TRT: A Recipe for Sucess and the HCG Update at Dr. 's site he puts this out there free for you and your Dr. www.allthingsmale.com Here is a link on doing shots I get a 10ml. vial of 200mgs/ml doing 100 mgs a week this can last you 19 weeks for about $120. http://spotinjections.com/index3.htm Co-Moderator Phil > From: jeffeason@... <jeffeason@...> > Subject: Androgel allergy > > Date: Sunday, July 11, 2010, 10:42 AM > Due to constant hives I am going to > need to switch to either Testim or injections.Without TRT my > levels are 150 to 200. the Androgel worked well to > increase my levels. Guest guest
I started out with Androgel and I went to injections because of the cost. The shots are about 1/9th the cost of Androgel. I use Testosterone-Cypionate (T-Cyp). All in all, the shots are okay. I would rather have the gel though mostly because the gel is more consistent. As for what to expect with injections, it depends on a few factors: Frequency of injections: twice a week works well for me. How much is injected: I work well with 50mg per injection. The size of the needles you use: I use a 22 gauge needle to withdraw the T-Cyp, and 25 gauge 1 " needle to inject with. I find the 27 guage needle, though finer and potentially a bit less painful, is too short. The T-Cyp gets into the bloodstream too fast in my opinion. Having the T-Cyp deep into the muscle with a 1 " needle works best for me - the T seems to be more even and consistent in how it's absorbed into my bloodstream. Pain: I push the needle into my thigh very slowly and I don't have pain except a stick when the needle pierces the skin. If you don't get instructed by your doctor on how to inject, you can do a search on " testosterone injections " on YouTube and you will see guys demonstrating how to inject. Good luck, Bill ________________________________ From: " jeffeason@... Guest guest
Bill, thanks for your comments. I find it interesting that you think the 27g is too short. DH uses a 25g 1.5 " needle and he is one of the lowest dosers I've read here. He does 20-30 mg every 5 days! I want to switch to a 1 ml syringe but see they only come with short needles, and your comments are making me rethink changing. How can you tell the tc gets in too quickly with the shorter needle? You mean you feel like you've gotten more T or more E? Guest guest
Now let me say this and this is me I was going in to my Dr.'s office every week for my shot they used a big needle and shot me in the back side. When I went to doing my own shots using a 27g x 1/2 " lg. needle my levels stayed the same no change. I did not feel the shot any different then getting it in the back side with a bigger needle. But my thighs are sold muscle no fat on them. Guest guest
Well I'm shooting him in the butt. Will the shorter needle still work there? He has skinny legs. Actually skinny butt too! > > > > > The size of the needles you use: I use a 22 gauge > > needle to withdraw the T-Cyp, and 25 gauge 1 " needle to > > inject with. I find the 27 guage needle, though finer > > and potentially a bit less painful, is too short. The > > T-Cyp gets into the bloodstream too fast in my opinion. > > Having the T-Cyp deep into the muscle with a 1 " > > needle works best for me - the T seems to be more even > > and consistent in how it's absorbed into my bloodstream. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > >

Guest guest
Sorry to hear that Phil. If it makers you feel better, above the belt DH is not so skinny. But his gut and gyno have gone down since dropping his dose some and starting DIM. Do you know if a shorter needle is ok to use in the butt? There must a guideline somewhere, like use 1/2 " for shots in the arm or thigh, 1 " or higher for butt, etc. Anybody know? > > > > > > > > > The size of the needles you use: I use a 22 > > gauge > > > > needle to withdraw the T-Cyp, and 25 gauge 1 " > > needle to > > > > inject with. I find the 27 guage needle, > > though finer > > > > and potentially a bit less painful, is too > > short. The > > > > T-Cyp gets into the bloodstream too fast in my > > opinion. > > > > Having the T-Cyp deep into the muscle with a 1 " > > > > needle works best for me - the T seems to be > > more even > > > > and consistent in how it's absorbed into my > > bloodstream. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
I would not know what to tell you about this Dr. Shippen dose his own shots now and dose them subQ in the fat off his belly to the side. He says this works better then IM. Guys do this and say it works great I don't like Test C shots subQ they burn and sting for me I feel it's the oil. Here is a long thread about this in this thread SWALE is Dr. . http://forum.mesomorphosis.com/mens-health-forum/injecting-testosterone-subcutan\ eously-134237662.html I would not go under a 1 inch long needle for shots in the rear. And here is a link to a post by 1cc he found a study on doing T shots subQ. http://forum.mesomorphosis.com/501391-post110.html Co-Moderator Phil > From: Barb <baba@...> > Subject: Re: Androgel allergy > > Date: Wednesday, July 14, 2010, 11:23 AM > Sorry to hear that Phil. Guest guest
I buy the 1ml syringes. The needle comes off. In order to get a 1ml syringe I buy 27 g .5 " syringes. I also buy 25g. 1'' needles, and 22g 1 " or 1.5 " needles. I take off the 27g needle and put on the 22g needle. I withdraw the T-Cyp. Before I change to the 25g needle I pull back on the syringe so that whatever T is in the needle is drawn back into the syringe. I put the 25g needle on and do the injection. I have purchased my syringes and needles from Walgreens and Target. Target sells a 1ml syringe without a needle. The way I tell is based on the way I feel. It's hard to describe, but I felt more of the effects of both the T and the E. Maybe it was in my head, but there sure seemed to be a difference. As well, my doc instructed me to use the 25g 1 " neeedle and so did the pharmacist. If you look at the way the ester works, it makes sense to me to get it deep into the muscle - I think, I'm not a doctor, so what do I know , that the T " releases/absorbs " more evenly that way. Guest guest
Phil - how big was the needle? For me the 25g doesn't hurt if I go in slowly. If it was a 22g they hit you with (which I think is what is normally used for glute shots), then oh yea, that woud hurt. Guest guest
I think 1/2 " is too short for the glute. Maybe a doc here can suggest. ________________________________ From: Barb <baba@...> Sent: Wed, July 14, 2010 11:04:33 AM Subject: Re: Androgel allergy  Well I'm shooting him in the butt. Guest guest
I have very little body fat but a 1/2 " needle is too short to give an adequate IM injection except in a infant or very small child.I can't pinch any fat in my thighs but I wouldn't use one there either. The fat is always thicker than you would imagine.Gluteal muscle would need a 1 1/2 " or 1 1/4 " in a very skinny adult.Anything less would cause leakage into subQ area. That is OK but you won't get as good absorption as in the vascular rich muscle.Would require a higher dose to equate to deep IM.
