Synthroid, Antara, and Androgel

I also have a small tumor / lesion on my pituitary gland.

As of 7 weeks ago my ENDO put me on Androl gel 5g.

I have been treated for low thyroid for 4 years after I was feeling very

tired on the drive home from work every day. My primary care Dr. put me on

synthroid (now on .1M).

About 2 years latter I was also placed on Antara (130 mg) for high

triglycerides. Now thyriod levels are ok and triglycerides are well under 150.

Is it possibe that the low thyroid and high triglycerides are from the

problem with the pituitary gland?????

QUESTION: With HRT (Androgel 5g daily) will this possibly correct the

low thyroid and high triglyceride problem and could I be weened off of

synthroid and antara?

First men going on andorgel 5g's need to be tested in 2 weeks when you have a

thyroid problem your skin can become thicker and the gels don't get through. I

stopped using them because I could not get my levels up high enough. I now do

shots and do my own shots. You need to be up into the upper 1/3 of your labs

range for Total and Free T and to keep your Estradiol levels down to about 20

pg/ml high levels of Estradiol will make your Thyroid meds not work as well high

levels mess up a lot of things in men.

I had high levels of triglycerides but at the time I was on a diet and losing

weight. Dr. said this was why my levels were high. I don't feel being on TRT

will help you come of meds like Thyroid. When I started to treat my low

Adrenals I felt much better then I found out my Ferritin levels were low do to

my Thyroid problem and this might be why your triglycerides are high you don't

digest your food right with low levels on Thyroid. I feel some much better on

iron pills and keeping my Thyroid levels up to where I feel good.
