Which part, that Brazil nuts are the richest source of radium-226, or that more than 200 mcg of selenium is dangerous? Chuck
Guest guest
Hi Chuck, some say that more than 200mg of selenium is not good, and some say that not to take more than 400mg. most of us are taking 200mgs. but I personally would take more if I thought it would help me. angel. Guest guest
Just to add I was wondering if anyone had been in touch with this doctor or followed this method of treatment.
Guest guest
Had a quick look. Interesting, but only if you can treat Hashimoto's before too much destruction takes place, when it's dead it's dead. What doc in this country is going to look at thyroid before the TSH rises? Subject: Thyroid Antibodies There is a Doctor who claims that for those with Hashimoto's Autoimmune Hypothyroidism natural or synthetic hormone will not work and it is the immune system which has to be treated. Guest guest
Just a quick question for those in the know, thyroid antibody test's, should it be neg or pos, or in my case the results were <40 or something similar, i ask because i recently obtained my hospital records and in my significant history it lists abnormal thyroid tests, I have never been informed of this by my gp, or the hospital, but it was it was a while ago, just wondering really, cheer;s Tim. -- Thanks and Regards, Tim. Guest guest
Thank's for the replys Barb and Phil, I just dug out the copy of this test and the results were as follows: Thyroid peroxidase antibody level. Value Units <10 iu/mL Range ( 0-50U ) I'm guessing that my results mean I have " some " antibodies but not enough to be significant? but this was in 2007, do you think should I get retested for this because as I mentioned when I got my records from the hospital it clearly states in my significant history " abnormal thyroid test's " am I right in thinking that thyroids don't fix themselves? like i said I was never told about this by the hospital or GP,I have had thyroid tests since and it would appear normal. sorry about the late reply, but my brain function is one of the things I'm struggling to get back cheers and be lucky! Guest guest
I've read thousands of posts from others on various forums, and it appears that antibodies can go up and down, depending on what's going on in your life. Major stress, a bad lifestyle, even environmental toxins can trigger an uptick, so it doesn't hurt to get retested, especially if you're symptomatic. Generally, thyroids don't fix themselves, but some with Graves' and Hashi's go into remission with proper treatment. I would certainly get Free T3, Free T4, reverse T3, and TSH tested if you feel brain-fogged all the time. Guest guest
Hi Guy's, I'm in the UK so dont think those tests are feasible, but the gp i'm seeing atm is a grumpy old shit " but " i have found if you state your case logically to him, he's open to do relative tests and is really ok once he realises your not a hypo and actually have a brain, this guy once told me to " get off my arse and just do it " quaint if there is nothing wrong with you but, unfortunately no help to me at the time, I wish that doctors would understand that I have better things to do than be inside a doctors surgery pleading my case! I went 10 years after radiotherapy and never went to the doc's once, in fact they lost my records it was that long, I will ask him to do the full thyroid tests and my hormones again, an interesting fact to finish with, since I excluded dairy from my diet my cholesterol has dropped from about 7.5 to 6.5, still above the range of " 5 " but on the way down thanks guys Tim.
