Guest guest
This is to everyone. How do you know for sure if you are Primary or Secondary? I was told that I was Primary because I answered yes to having the mumps as a child. But because I have fathered 4 children the mumps virus only effected one testicle, but now the other one is worn out and not producing fully, and they told me that the injections would help out my testis. But then I noticed that they were shrinking and was told sometimes that happens and they start to shut down. The blood work said that my pituitary gland was fine. I just went back to the urologist and told them after 3 months on T-Cyp injections I was still tired/no energy, no morning wood, headaches...... She said that I may be a little Secondary and that I need to go back to the Endo for more testing. Today I did that and she basically told me why does is matter the cause, the treatment is the same! But they are going to check my Thyroid with this test, but they just don't seem to care what the problem is they just want to treat the symptoms. My GP wants me to start anti-depressants, and why shouldn't I be depressed if my junk doesn't work the way its suppose too. My Urologist wants me to get a vacuum pump to do erection therapy, and didn't seem to care that my Estradial was 84, and I told them I need to lower it. She said that the Endo would have to work on that. My Endo says to drop my T-Cyp injections to 100mg every 10 days, instead of 200mg, and that will lower my Estradial, and they will do another lab next month. I am very frustrated! This is a pisser! (That's if I could piss, and now have to take Uroxatral and Avodart to piss, because the T-Cyp made the prostate swell!) Pryor Sales- Pricing Analyst American Tile 972-280-0128 E-mail: j.pryor@... Guest guest
E2 is the Estradiol right? I will discuss all of this with my Dr. I do appreciate your time Phil, I will keep you updated. Guest guest
All my Endo did to rule out Secondary was an MRI, which came back fine. Then they jumped to the diagnosis that it was Primary. My doctor too also threw the line " stop concerning yourself with the cause, and focus on treatment " . I REALLY do not want to be on TRT if I dont want to be. Phil, Just another ? please. The Doctor already injected me with 300 MG of T on Tuesday 8/3. And wants to see me in two weeks for another Injection, then start Androgel. After my own consideration and your advice, I will NOT get that 2nd injection or start any TRT until the root cause is found, and all options are exhausted. I want to start with a new, competent Endo. And just for the sake of my past test results, and wanting a BASELINE - I want to get my labs retaken. Again I was injected on 8/3, How long do I have to wait for me to " normalize " so I can go for another blood test workup, any idea?

Most docs will just test TSH, which is often useless. You have to check the lab sheet, most will say total T3 and total T4, which is not the same as Free. > My GP wants me to start anti-depressants Please don't start this, they are addictive and then you'll have another problem to deal with. If you are truly depressed, low thyroid does cause that. > my Estradial was 84, and I told them I need to lower it. > My Endo says to drop my T-Cyp injections to 100mg every 10 days, instead of 200mg, and that will lower my Estradial, and they will do another lab next month. It will lower it somewhat, but how about cutting it even more, and doing shots more often? Phil does every 3 days, DH does every 5 days. When you have excess T4 thyroid hormone, it converts to rT3, which is not active, making you more hypo. It's supposed to be a protective mechanism, because too much T3 would send your heart rate soaring. Likewise, when you take an excess of testosterone all at once, it converts to estradiol. I don't know if this is because excess testosterone would turn men into aggressive beasts or what, but that's the observation. The standard recommendation is 100 mg/week of TC, so that's what we started him on. Well his estradiol was over range, and he was all hot and red all the time, and was growing a belly and breasts. I had no idea that was a huge overdose for him. Last couple of weeks he did 32 mg/5 days and had wood on the 5th morning. We are going to try 28 mg/4 days and see if that works even better. The DIM has helped and his last labs showed his estradiol had dropped 20 points and was now within range, but still too high. So hopefully, adding a second DIM and dropping to 4 days at a lower dose will do the trick. I also wanted to mention that I test him on day 3 after his shot, which should be about the peak, and I aim for that to be in the upper third of the range. If you test right before your next shot, you will be showing your lowest levels, which may be far from your peak levels, and if you're in the top third at the end of your cycle, then you're possibly over range at the peak, which is why it would convert to estradiol. Your thyroid levels are also relevant because the higher your FT3, the higher your SHBG, which carries the testosterone in your blood and makes it last longer. If your thyroid is too low, your SHBG will be low, and you'll have to dose your TC more frequently, and at higher levels, which of course, just converts to more estradiol. Just some personal thoughts. Hope this helps someone. Barb > > I am very frustrated! This is a pisser! I SHOULD OF NEVET OF GOTTEN THAT T SHOT, I SHOULD OF FOLLOWED MY GUT!! sorry for caps I'm just very very frustrated. Would gyno start to quickly after the shot? (24-48 hours). Guest guest
When I first started TRT Jay the very best advice I got was that in the end u know your body the best and will have 2 figure out what works best for you. And most of us will agree that most Endo's/Specialist's are behind the times when it comes to TRT treatment. So if after 1 shot you have an itchy puffy nipple then the smart money might say you may be Gyno prone. Do u have any anti-estrogen meds on hand? I bet some Tamoxifen would knock that back in a snap. If not there are simple things like Zinc and ibproferen that have anti-estrogen properties and are definitely better then nothing. Have u tried boosting your test levels in other ways like 100 mg's of zinc ED with a couple mg's of copper? doesn't work for everybody but it sure beats dealing with Gyno issues. As long as there are no lumps forming behind your nipple you should be fine. I'd have some AI's and stuff on hand be4 u did another shot. > > > > > From: jtd1701d <jtd1701d@> > > > Subject: Re: Androgel TRT > > > > > > Date: Friday, August 6, 2010, 5:57 PM > > > All my Endo did to rule out Secondary > > > was an MRI, which came back fine. Guest guest
I have no anti-estrogen meds. I would like some just invade this is gyno but again the dr won't heat of if- she says it's not related. us all that stuff by percription only? I am going to call her Monday and really try to insist... even if it was not gyno ... would taking anti-estrogen for a short period cause any issues? if it's harmless why not just subscribe? > > > > > > > From: jtd1701d <jtd1701d@> > > > > Subject: Re: Androgel TRT > > > > > > > > Date: Friday, August 6, 2010, 5:57 PM > > > > All my Endo did to rule out Secondary > > > > was an MRI, which came back fine. Guest guest
I remember the first time I went into my doctor's asking about Tamoxifen he actually had to pull out 1 of his books and look it up. It was right then I knew I was pretty much on my own. I don't understand these Doctor's that will perscribe Testosterone but not the required anti-estrogen meds when sides flare up. Not 2 mention the ones that won't even test for Estradiol levels. Unless u had gyno issues as a kid I would be the farm it was the shot that irritated it. There are different classes of anti estrogen meds and weaker ones like Tamoxifen shouldn't be any trouble, there are people that stay on it 4 months. Others like Arimidex and Aromasin u need 2 be alittle more careful with. A wise man also once told me that I would probably have 2 get most of my antiestrogen meds on the black market or other sources ans he wasn't 2 far off. When u go in asking for a women's breast cancer drug they just don't seem 2 get it. Unless u are seeing a top specialist like Dr or Larry Komer it just seems 2 be a hassle. If it were me i'd take 500 mg's of ibproferen 2 x daily for a few days and see if it helps. But yes there are other ways 2 get what u need but u shouldn't have 2. If u are really gonna be on TRT then spending the money and seeing Dr may be a good idea. > > > > > > > > > From: jtd1701d <jtd1701d@> > > > > > Subject: Re: Androgel TRT > > > > > > > > > > Date: Friday, August 6, 2010, 5:57 PM > > > > > All my Endo did to rule out Secondary > > > > > was an MRI, which came back fine. Guest guest
Phil, and the rest - I cannot thank you enough for all your efforts in advice and research. Its been 5 days since that 300 T shot, and my left pec is still tender and burning. I remember before injecting me, the dr said after 7 days, my T levels will start to drop, and I may feel like a " crash " . I hope at that point, maybe this estrogen will start dropping as the T shot wears off? I will ask my doctor for the meds, but I doubt it will work, as I mentioned prior, the dr says my nipple issue has NOTHING to do with the T shot. It makes me not even want to deal with this SOB anymore, because I feel strongly that the shot has everything todo with my tender/burning nipple. But to make an appointment with a new specialist takes months! I need some real answers now! Phil, thank you again for your efforts, and speaking to your DA friend, regarding my issue. The link you provided for " Enzymatic Therapy, Pure Rip with DIM " ; What exactly is this? Is it safe? I am betting the dr will not perscribe Arimidex, and may need to order this product. Without any meds, any idea on when this iritation will go away? Its been 5 days and its getting quite annoying. This forum is the ONLY group that seems to understand what I am going through, my family and friends look at me as if I am crazy. Thanks again - > > > > > > > From: jtd1701d <jtd1701d@> > > > > Subject: Re: Androgel TRT > > > > > > > > Date: Friday, August 6, 2010, 5:57 PM > > > > All my Endo did to rule out Secondary > > > > was an MRI, which came back fine. Guest guest
I assumed the huge amount of Test was too much, hence body conveting some into Estrogen (already at a the high end), hence the nipple issue. this morning is now day 6, and now now it looking slightly puffy. I certainly want to get my e2 investigated and down, but first concern is this nipple. I do have OCD when it comes to my health, and the thought of my puffy nipple being permenent cannot escape me! I even had to dig up my shrinks phone number to make an apppointment. I will look into this DIM product, its listed at the viaminshoppe website, perhaps i'll just walk into the local store and see if they have it. > > > > > > > > > > > From: jtd1701d <jtd1701d@> > > > > > > Subject: Re: Androgel > > TRT > > > > > > > > > > > > Date: Friday, August 6, 2010, 5:57 PM > > > > > > All my Endo did to rule out Secondary > > > > > > was an MRI, which came back fine. > > Then they > > > > jumped to > > > > > > the diagnosis that it was Primary. > > > > > > > > > > > > My doctor too also threw the line > > " stop > > > > concerning yourself > > > > > > with the cause, and focus on > > treatment " . I > > > > REALLY do > > > > > > not want to be on TRT if I dont want to > > be. > > > > > > > > > > > > Phil, Just another ? please. The > > Doctor > > > > already > > > > > > injected me with 300 MG of T on Tuesday > > 8/3. > > > > And wants > > > > > > to see me in two weeks for another > > Injection, > > > > then start > > > > > > Androgel. > > > > > > > > > > > > After my own consideration and your > > advice, I > > > > will NOT get > > > > > > that 2nd injection or start any TRT > > until the > > > > root cause is > > > > > > found, and all options are exhausted. > > > > > > > > > > > > I want to start with a new, competent > > Endo. And > > > > just > > > > > > for the sake of my past test results, > > and wanting > > > > a BASELINE > > > > > > - I want to get my labs retaken. > > Again I was > > > > injected > > > > > > on 8/3, How long do I have to wait for > > me to > > > > " normalize " so > > > > > > I can go for another blood test workup, > > any > > > > idea? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Yeah Buddy, it is true your body will be adjusting while u start your treatment but I wouldn't want puffy nipples either. I'd grab some DIM asap and how about some Zinc gluconate? I can also point you in the direction of some Tamoxifen and other anti-estrogen meds if your Doc doesn't get their act together! not much fun at all obessing about a puffy nipple. Is the other nipple tender at all or just the one? > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: jtd1701d <jtd1701d@> > > > > > > > Subject: Re: Androgel > > > TRT > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Date: Friday, August 6, 2010, 5:57 PM > > > > > > > All my Endo did to rule out Secondary > > > > > > > was an MRI, which came back fine. > > > Then they > > > > > jumped to > > > > > > > the diagnosis that it was Primary. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > My doctor too also threw the line > > > " stop > > > > > concerning yourself > > > > > > > with the cause, and focus on > > > treatment " . I > > > > > REALLY do > > > > > > > not want to be on TRT if I dont want to > > > be. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Phil, Just another ? please. The > > > Doctor > > > > > already > > > > > > > injected me with 300 MG of T on Tuesday > > > 8/3. > > > > > And wants > > > > > > > to see me in two weeks for another > > > Injection, > > > > > then start > > > > > > > Androgel. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > After my own consideration and your > > > advice, I > > > > > will NOT get > > > > > > > that 2nd injection or start any TRT > > > until the > > > > > root cause is > > > > > > > found, and all options are exhausted. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I want to start with a new, competent > > > Endo. And > > > > > just > > > > > > > for the sake of my past test results, > > > and wanting > > > > > a BASELINE > > > > > > > - I want to get my labs retaken. > > > Again I was > > > > > injected > > > > > > > on 8/3, How long do I have to wait for > > > me to > > > > > " normalize " so > > > > > > > I can go for another blood test workup, > > > any > > > > > idea? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > > > > > > > > >

Guest guest
i have ordered the product you originally suggested phil (Indolplex/DIM), and it is expected to arrive tomorrow I also went to my Urologist (good guy) and he completely agree'd that the large T shot can certainly cause tenderness to my nipple/breasts. He says just let it takes it course, and it should start to flair down in a few more days, as the injection peaks at about a week or so after injection. thanks > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: jtd1701d > > <jtd1701d@> > > > > > > > > Subject: Re: > > Androgel TRT > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Date: Friday, August 6, 2010, > > 5:57 PM > > > > > > > > All my Endo did to rule out > > Secondary > > > > > > > > was an MRI, which came back > > fine.
