Guest guest
I have an adrenal related question, I hope someone can help or share their thoughts. The situation is this, i've had several adrenal tests, and the last one is on Thursday. apparently all of my hormones will be tested on thurs, before having the short synatchen test. i am having hypo-testosterone investigated amongts other things. so far i've had the urinary free cortisol test, dexamethasone suppression test, now the short synatchen test and think i'll also get all the other hormones tested tomorrow. To do all the tests, i've had to be off HC for some months, and it did previously help keep me stable. i have been depressed since coming off it. my appt to interpret the results was next week but has been put back 5 weeks to insure the results are back in time - that takes 3 weeks, and it's an extra 2 because dr has nothing else available My question is this really: i'm thinking of starting the HC back up on friday after the tests. but i'm concerned that if i do this and dr decides to do more tests in november, that he'll then turn round and say he can't treat me or test me etc becasue i've been on hc. i am wondering if i might need an insulin tolerance test or a glucagon test to check for growth hormone issues. i don't know enough about this to know if hc would skew this test too much. i can't go on as i am, that's a sure fact. my contract was not renewed at work and i'm confident it's because i've been so depressed and struggled to cope and this has come over to people iworked with, although i 've done my best and done at worst a reasonable job, they probably think i'm miserable. when i started there i was on hc and i was coping, then i had to come off it. please does anyone know if taking the hc would affect any further tests -if i have to have any - in a month? if it is growth hormone i'm low in and dr picks up on this from igf-1 (??) then if i have to have an insulin test or a glucagon test, would this be possible if on HC? thanks Chris
