Guest guest
Welcome to the jungle of endos! I had to force the one I went to for an E2 test, and when it came back high for a male, but 'in-range' she would not even address the issue. Also my Total T had come up from 209 to 323,.....now according to her I didn't even need TRT. > > Basically told me that if my T was 382 which it was a few months ago, then I didn't really have a T issue. I showed him Dr Crisler's paper, and he thought a lot of it was bunk. I told him that I would like to have E2 measured, and he said that he only tested that if a man showed signs of gyno! He said that me having the erratic ED problems didn't make any sense. He is just testing my T, and thyroid hormones this Friday. Oh well, what the hell! >
Guest guest
I wonder if " anti-aging " doctors might be the best specialty to use for these issues. You have to be careful, because some just automatically shoot guys up with T, HGH, etc., but at least they would be familiar with the idea that estrogen levels are important in men. > > Basically told me that if my T was 382 which it was a few months ago, then I didn't really have a T issue. Guest guest
Probably better than most docs in my area at least. I have no idea if you would run into big insurance issues though. Plus you really only find those types of docs in big metro areas. I am going to see a gynecologist next! LOL Totally serious,......he also practices what they call 'functional medicine.' I saw my urologist this AM, and he is familiar with the guy I will be seeing. Said this guy is big into TRT, and would probably want my levels around 1000. He doesn't know if he deals with the other things like E2 though. My urologist was the first one that wanted to start me on Testim, but I didn't want to start it until more things were checked out. He still said he would put me on it, but he pretty much said today that I may know more than he does about all the other stuff at this point. That is not his 'job description' and I understand that to a degree. Gave me a scrip for Viagra 100mg. even though I said I didn't want one! LOL Docs,.....you just have to love 'em! > > I wonder if " anti-aging " doctors might be the best specialty to use for these issues.
