Guest guest
Sounds like a perfect camping trip. My husband would have loved it. I wouldn't be able to stand it. I am actually going fishing with him tomorrow if I can get up. I never liked fishing because I don't like to grab the fish. Greg promised he'd take them off the hook for me, so I'm going to give it a shot. Tomorrow I'm going to go watch. Fishing licenses expire the end of August, so I'll start actually fishing then. (I'm too cheap to buy a license for a month.) Since finding out I have this disease I've decided to try a lot of things I never wanted to before. I guess my mortality sunk in and I don't want to miss anything. Guest guest
Hi, Terry, Diane, Sharon, et al., We go car camping with a tent, but don't rough it too much, believe me! Plus, Vermont has excellent, well-maintained campgrounds with sheltered platforms -- sort of like a large three-sided cabin, so you can pitch a tent up off the ground, and even if it rains, you can sit and read and stay dry. Hard to believe that when I lived in CA, I used to do strenuous back-packing in Yosemite and other places with the Sierra Club and with my brother. A couple of times when it was just me and him, the bears got our food and cut short our trip. I have a feeling those days are over for good. But I have to say, whenever I got back from a trip like that, I felt like a million bucks despite the sore muscles. If you ever want to get in shape fast, believe me, carrying a 40-lb pack over mountain trails for 3 or 4 days will do it! Now, with hep C, I get winded and faint just walking up one flight of stairs. What a bummer! I'm overweight but not THAT out of shape. I can only have faith that "this, too shall pass" some day. Take care, Re: [ ] Out of the Woods The way we use to camp was in a 8 foot slide camper, Pluged into 120 power, in a camp ground close to restrooms & shower's. Guest guest
When I was a teenage my folks had a camp trailer with A/C. I would tell them they weren't camping. They were just taking their second home with them. But when I was in my 30's, I changed my mind. Our slide in camper didn't have a A/C or restroom. But we would camp in northern Az & didn't need it up there, we only stayed in camp grounds with restrooms & showers. Plus they all had a little store, were we could get something we for got or buy more ice. That was camping to us. That is what 20 years will do for you. Now 10 years latter, if we get back into camping I want a motorhome. A humbling experience, isn't it? The only good thing about it is that my loving wife gives me a break on my fair share of the housework. And mowing the lawn? Forget it! Another benefit from hep C is that it's a perfect excuse for getting out social obligations. If we get invited to some function we don't want to go to, or go to it and want to leave early, " 's tired and has to conserve his energy " is the perfect white lie, and sometimes it's even true. Guest guest
are the race's in NH NASCAR race's. I use to go to the NASCAR & INDY CAR race's out here in Phoenix. Our old house was less then 5 miles from the track. On a non race day I could drive to the track in 5 to 10 minutes. But after a race I have spent up to 120 minutes to get back home. I stoped going about two years ago. I had a chose, I could go to the race's or I could go see the grandkids. I could not aford both. As much as I love racing, I dearly love the grandkids. So it was a no brainer. Guest guest
Terry, I was just kidding around. They DO have stock car races over in Keene, NH, and I'd like to go sometime just for kicks. But I don't follow racing. Actually I have a co-worker who's a serious racing fan. She goes to races over in NH, but I can't remember where or if it's NASCAR. She knows the names of the drivers, too. There is another big racing track in this area, in Lyme, CT, but I've never been. I was kidding about going to the dog track, too, but there's also one of those very nearby. Gambling and going to the track is one addiction I missed (there aren't many). Very hot and muggy here, and it's only 10 a.m.! But knowing where you live, I guess I shouldn't complain. I tried benadryl and then ended up on another med (can't remember the name of it) Tell your dr about it. -dz- debbie henning wrote: Terry just wanted to ask a question on itching,,what is this and why? cuz Im starting to itch almost like I have little bugs Is this part of a symtom or a chain reaction to what I've been hearing from you all?Debbie Terry Long <pawpawto3@...> wrote: My Doctor's office in the second floor. Guest guest
Shortly after starting treatment I had a problem with itching. My doctor didn't thank it was the Tx. He thought it was my antidepressn't. He played with those for a while, but the itching was still there. I thought all the long that it was the Tx. I didn't like most of the antidepressant's he tried and talked him into putting me back on the first one. For the most part the itching stopped after 5 monthes into treatment. While I was still itching, I was using a hemorrhoidal cream on the itching. It worked for me. I thank after your body adjustes to the Tx, your itching will stop also. My Doctor still doesn't thank it was from the itching because he hadn't heard of anyone eles with that problem.
