Hi B,

I am so pleased you joined the Lyme-aid list. I think there is really a

need for a private support type mail list. We plan to lend support, answer

questions, share information, and symptoms, discuss insurance problems and

meds. Just about all that is done on the regular Lyme newsgroup, but a bit

more private....still, I hope that we will all use good common sense and not

post anything on this list that we would not be proud to see on the front

page of our local newspaper. Gee, with the Clinton/ fiasco, that

pretty much includes everything! Seriously though, I think that we should

still follow the rule of not sending doctors names and phone numbers on the

mail list, we can respond via direct email to any inquiries. Lord knows, we

have so few doctors now that treat Lyme disease, we don't want to jeopardize

any of their practices.

, I cannot tell you how pleased I am that you are here to help out,

you have lots of great information to share and we need your calm, rational

presence. Hey, and good luck with the new home being built, I know you have

been waiting for this for awhile....any chance of getting in this year?

Maybe the holidays?

Hugs,

Marta

Hi : I'm new to this forum and this newsletter..but also not new to Lyme

disease. I have been suffering for 22 or more years, and been misdiagnosed

for every possible malady known to man. My son also has been a victum as well

as my now deceased husband, and my invalid mother. What I want to know from

you, is how do you stay well when off antiobiodic? I have been on since 1991,

and had little success with orals and IVs. Bicillin IM seems to be my ticket,

but I need my weekly fix. I STILL HERX AFTER ALL THESE YEARS....JUST NOT AS

BAD. At first I thought I might die...so they cut me way back and started

bringing me up again. I wonder if I'll ever be free of antiobiodics. I also

take meds for lyme related symptoms, as my MD believes to treat them as well

until the disease subsides....but I still herx, have bad mornings, can't move

for hours, have to take muscle relaxers, and xanax for the panic attacks and

fast heart beats, indocin for the arthritis, elaval and effexor for depression

and sleeplessness. I'm coping now, and Trying TO RETURN TO WORK after

spending 5 years tring to get on disability, finally got it, and with my

husband's passing, I have to do something...... Your tale give me hope that I

may someday be med free. thanks, gail

Any new info would be greatly appreciated.
