and Ruth;

I have had a great ortho tech who thought of lining my

insert and brace with a very very soft leather; it has

cut down on friction;(I was getting pressure sores and

ulcers on heels; it has also cut down on the heat and

sweaty irritation in summer months!

As for the foot box of the shoe; do make sure you get

it deep enough to accomodate for the inserts, or

remove insoles that are manuafactured and I get a

wider width or a man's sized shoe to give more room

for all that it takes for an AFO and insert and then

the foot to slide down in; the leather helps me get it

on easier too; I used to have trouble with my toes

clawing under when I put on shoes now they go in nice

and smooth.

Good luck; Libby

I have a dense foam lining inside each leg, and a more cushiony foam

in the footplates which needs to be replaced now and then.
