Guest guest
Hi Larry, I feel really dumb but what does HNP stand for? I just call mine Herniated discs, so just can't figure out how HNP comes in. I know I saw it before, I must have known what it meant before, but forget. Larry, if you did not have these disc problems prior to LD, it definitely has to be from LD, caused by nerve damage, caused by the spirochetes. I doubt surgery would really help you or me, until the chetes are gone, we will continue to have these problems I think. Unless the HNP's prevent you from walking at all, I would not consider it, you just never know what can happen. Just my humble opinion though. I too have the chronic sinus infection, dx'd by CT scan, also only since LD came into my life, are illnesses are the same approximate age (3 1/2yrs) incredible we have so many of the same problems in common. I know you have been on IV longer than I, I am only on my third week, and herxing up a storm, I remember your post about going to court and needing assistance as you were so sick, can you tell me when you started to feel good on the Rocephin, I am worried about still being so sick for the G-burg rally. Only a few weeks away. You don't have to tell me to stay on the abx, when I saw the results of my PET scan it scared the hell out of me, and I definitely want to stay on IV's as long as possible to prevent further brain damage. I am sorry you see only small improvements on the IV, not very encouraging. I still am unsure, did you begin to be sick 3+years ago as a result of a known tick bite, or was it stress that brought out the disease from it's dormant stage from a prior tick bite? I seem to recall you were going through a divorce. Forgive me if I have my facts scrambled. Guest guest
Marta, HNP stands for herniated nucleus pulpi (disc). I went to the new neurologist yesterday. He opined no Lyme but MS even in light of the positive Western Blot (band 31 & 41). I have had sinus problems since or before the onset of symptoms. The Mayo has come out with research that cronic sinus problems are caused by fungus. I can't help but think that that may be part of the cause of the immune reaction. Yes, I'm still on IVs, however, not much improvement yet. I see Dr. J. this Saturday, I'll keep you posted. Larry NV
Guest guest
Marta, I forgot to tell you, I worked in Lyme Conn and then in Peekskill, NY in the summer of 1985. I had a Bells palsy in 1989 but it passed in about a month. I found a tick on my dog in 1996 and a rash showed up on my leg in late 1996, about the time the symptoms showed up. Guest guest
Hi Larry, No sooner had I sent out my query to you about HNP's definition, I came across an old web page I printed out that defined the word. I was trying to clean up and throw out the tons of paperwork I have generated while researching my own disease, much of it was a waste to print. I read the article about chronic sinus infections possibly are due to fungal infections....sure makes sense to me too. Sorry to hear that you are not making much improvement on the IV's, I was hoping you would tell me you were, my first 28 days runs out on Monday, I don't see the doctor till Saturday, getting an approval for more IV is going to be tough due to lack of time, hope I don't have to miss any days of infusing, or worst, get cut off before this 28 days can be of help. Let us know how you make out on Saturday as well, Hugs, Marta - >From: " larryyenko " <larryy@...> > >Marta, > HNP stands for herniated nucleus pulpi (disc). I went to the new >neurologist yesterday.
