Guest guest
Marta, You had stated that you had trouble taking Milk Thistle. I too couldn't take it but was told by a smart Dr. to take Reduced L-glutathione, as Milk Thistle causes in the liver to produce the Glutathione which helps the liver to detoxify. It was the best advise given me. Some of us are not able to break down the Milk Thistle so that it can have the liver produce this substance. Prior to taking this I couldn't take antibiotics for an extended period of time as my liver couldn't detoxify the metabolites. I take two 150 mg capsules twice daily. It has been a miracle worker for me. I use Klaire Labs product as it seems to work the best for me. I get the product from NEEDS a catalog nutrient place their number is 1 (800) 634-1380. The Dr. who recommended this protocol is a CFIDS DR. but it has helped with my Lyme medication protocol. Food for thought...... Guest guest
Hi Carol, Thanks for this advice, I saw my doctor today and discussed the fact that I got cramps in my legs when I started taking the Milk thistle and when I stopped, the leg cramps ceased. He still thinks it may be coincidental, so I am to try to take them again...if it does give me the leg cramps again, I will try the L-Glutathione. I printed out your letter to refer back to. Curious, what side effects did you have when you tried to take the Milk Thistle without the L-Glutathione? Before I call, can you tell me how much it will cost for a month's supply? Guest guest
Marta, It is not inexpensive I can't actually remember what we pay at needs but around $24? The ones my Dr. recommended are from Klaire Labs and N.E.E.D.S. Nutritional Supplements catalog has the best prices. Also they often have a 30% discount on Klaire Lab, products. I get the 150 mg. of Reduced L-Glutathione and take two daily. Needs # is 1 800 - 634-1380. The Milk Thistle wasn't being broken down into L-Glutathione, therefore I still felt toxic, very little energy, just wanted to lie around most of the time. The Reduced L-Glutathione is already broken down, therefore the liver doesn't have to try and take the Milk Thistle and convert it to L-Glutathione which mine and many other sick livers are not able to do. Let me know how this product works for you. The DR. who recommended it to me is a CFFIDS DR. But my LLMD is now understanding how much it has helped me tolerate the antibiotics. Guest guest
Thanks Carol, I am going to try it! Right now I am trying the Cordyceps and Magnesium Malate, so far so good, my doctor suggested I see how I do on these before I try to add the Milk thistle again, it may just be coincidental that I had the leg cramps, and maybe I can handle the Milk thistle OK, anyway, I will let you know what happens via this list.
