Guest guest
Dabs, Did your vitamins contain ANY iron? There was a good article out recently about iron and bacteria and the two do not mix!! Also Erlichia was listed as a pathogen known to LOVE iron (well it didn't say that exactly but you know what I mean). Love, Kathleen (write me if you need more info)

YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! > Dabs conn Dabs, I did the same exact thing about 7 yrs. ago and felt wonderful!!! (After being on IV's and oral abx for two years.) I honestly think that we get so much " stuff " in our systems that our natural healing ability can't over-ride the meds, vitamins, supplements, etc. I still get periods (flares) of feeling crappy .. .the arthritis will flare up ... the headaches return with a vengence ... the fatigue and Lyme fog return ... but it never lasts more than a week or so and then I feel great again for months. (And I'm tougher than the symptoms are so I can handle them for a week or so.) And for that reason, I won't go back on anything. I take a daily multi-vitamin, a calcium supplement because I'm a 49 yr. old female, and my daily Premarin because I had a hysterectomy. But no extras!! I feel that I eat right and get all the other vitamins I need from my diet. I would never in a million years advise anyone else to do what we have done .... not at all. I know Marta went off everything and just couldn't handle it ... many can't! Dabs, I think we're among the lucky few but it sure does feel good to not be taking any abx. :-) I just wish everyone else could be as lucky as we are!!! Someone would mention a vitamin/suppliment to me and I have been so desperate to feel better I would start to take it. I think it is really bad to take too much A and E. I just didnt pay enough attention to the labels. Good advice about " bubble bursting " I am eststic today but will take it one day at a time, I guess. I just want sooo much to be well.... xoxo Dabs conn
Guest guest
Dabs I read you email about stopping the vitamins. My wife and I, in contrast, and in our experience have felt much better since being on a regimend of vitamins (6-8wks on vitamins so far), that hopefully, are working towards the intention of helping to build up our immune system. My wife and I both also are on IV Primaxin and Zithromax (oral). We don't know the absolute reason, but both agree and feel that it is the combination of our meds and vitamins , that have given us additional and very much needed energy. In addtion, we have been working on reducing (not eliminating) our carborhydrate(s) intake. Since we too, don't know the answers, we are hoping and have a " goal " that with " an improved immune system, " that we may someday at least be able " to live and be able to work " while having Lyme disease. Guest guest
Dabs, Congratulations, I could feel your excitement through my computer. don't mean to burst your bubble, but be careful because when you are so excited then fall back down, its a harder fall. I've had good days and felt like you and then, boy when you get hit again, its so depressing. But at least you feel great today - ENJOY while it last. I really hope it last a while longer or forever for you. Guest guest
Hi Dabs, I am THRILLED for you! Enjoy, but don't overdo...that's always been my mistake. I would have a good day, and want to accomplish too many things... and I'd feel lousy afterwards. I am on Biaxin and Plaquenil now, and I am starting to feel stronger. I don't want to jinx it, but I think my LLMD has found the combo that just might help me. Because of the vitamin controversy, I am not taking any...just Magnesium for the twitches. The vitamins weren't helping me, although I know that others have had great success with them. I wish you continued health!!! If only it was that simple! I have a new question... I continue to experience frequent daily low grade fevers. My temp changes from 96.7 to 100.3 in a matter of minutes, mostly in the afternoon and evening. This has been going on for about 5 weeks. Just recently the fluctuations have started in the morning and happen through out the day... The LLMD said try not to take anything for the fevers. That's the weird thing, my temp will spike up despite the fact that I took Aleive or Advil. I hope this means my body is fighting the Lyme buggers! Here's the question... Has anyone else had this experience with daily fluctuating temperatures? I feel weird enough with the parasthesias this wipes me out and makes me extremely unbalanced! Thanks and Take Care! {{hugs}} Jane

My temp is like a roller coaster, but thankfully it is usually normal most of the time. I feel lousy when my temp goes over 98 degrees! I too have been on abx since May. Guest guest
Jane- I too have daily fevers. I have had a fever since starting on abx. That was in May of this year. It runs anywhere from 99 to 101. And I noticed that when I feel the worst it is higher so I too am assuming that it is helping to kill of the bugs. The only time my temp has not been 99 or above was when I was off the abx. It instantly went down to 97.4 ans stayed there the week I was off the abx. Only to go back up as soon as I restarted them. My doc also says not to treat it unless it goes to 102 or higher and then he also wants to be notified. Guest guest
Jane- The only time it has really bothered me is when it was real hot outside or when it hits 101. That has been about average for the last few weeks which is also wwhen I have been feeling the worst so maybe it is the fever and the toxins that are doing me in. And I meant to mention that when I was taking Motrin (800 mg 4-5 times a day) my temp still didnt come down. And Im from MI. Usually put that with my name but must have forgotten to do it this time. Guest guest
Jane, I just started having the same thing again. When I first started treatment I had the fevers on and off anytime during the day and night sweats. Just last week I started the fevers in the afternoon, along with nausea. So far for the last two days I haven't had them and most my other symptoms are milder I'm currently off anbx's, for two months now, so I'm real confused. Felt like I was herxing for an entire week, then got better. I can't figure it out! But I do know fevers are a common symptom with Lyme, and of course when you are feverish with all this new temperature stuff we are hearing, thats a good thing because its killing the chetes. Hope you feel better. I know this doesn't help you much, but at least you know others experience the same thing.
