Guest guest
Reid, I never said you can't get treated without positive test results although it is getting more and more difficult to get any long term treatment without some documentation. It is either the doctor or the insurance company wanting something for the files. If you have managed to by-pass this completely, more power to you, especially if you need and get IV treatment. Many people cannot get around it though and buck up against the need for positive diagnostics sometime. I was merely suggesting some other tests to try if getting a clinical diagnosis wasn't happening for them....... And yes, there are many a**holes out there who disregard positive test results. That is an issue for the patient to battle and can be done quite easily by giving the doc in question a copy of something in writing from you stating that you were in to see them regarding LD, tested positive on such and such test(s) on such and such date(s) and that he/she is refusing to give you antibiotic treatment. Enclose some literature stating that LD is a bacterial infection and must be treated with anitibiotics....they will get the message and most likely fork over a prescription for meds.....
