debi...

as aperson who has suffered from lyme for over 11 years...and has been thru

the ringer.......and has seen how accurate the blod/urine testing is ....i

will fight for to the death that lyme CAN NOT BE DIAGNOSE THRU BLLOD /URINE

TESTING.....until is get s more than 50 % reliable i shall stand by my

statements....f**ck companies or people that say yes.....continue to fight

the gov. is on our side where it counts....the cdc criteria is a joke......if

ur doc does not have the guts to give a clinical dx....get a new one......i

refuse to GIVE FURTHER BLOOD OR URINE FOR TESTING....IT SHOWS NOTHING i have

been dx'ed by numerous docs including( yep hold ur hat....sigal ) as being

chronic lyme......i had to go to him due to my comp. suit.......due to

immacualte documentation...he agreed i was chronic.......

like i prevousily said ....not only symptoms....but ELIMANTION OF OTHER

POSSIBLE CAUSES.... that is the key......since we do not have reliable

testing for lyme u go to the symptoms and elimante any other

possibilities.......if u have 30 ouit of 45 lyme symptoms (or 25 ect) and no

other possible cause...what do u have?

LYME......nuff said just my >$,02

Reid, I never said you can't get treated without positive test results

although it is getting more and more difficult to get any long term

treatment without some documentation. It is either the doctor or the

insurance company wanting something for the files. If you have managed

to by-pass this completely, more power to you, especially if you need

and get IV treatment. Many people cannot get around it though and buck

up against the need for positive diagnostics sometime. I was merely

suggesting some other tests to try if getting a clinical diagnosis

wasn't happening for them.......

And yes, there are many a**holes out there who disregard positive test

results. That is an issue for the patient to battle and can be done

quite easily by giving the doc in question a copy of something in

writing from you stating that you were in to see them regarding LD,

tested positive on such and such test(s) on such and such date(s) and

that he/she is refusing to give you antibiotic treatment. Enclose some

literature stating that LD is a bacterial infection and must be treated

with anitibiotics....they will get the message and most likely fork over

a prescription for meds.....
