I am real curious about this and have been meaning to ask my doctor about it

but keep forgetting..lol. Not unusual for me! Isn't duratuss an over the

counter cough syrup? How does it help with pain and does it help more than

traditional pain medications like vicoprofen or codeine based medications?

Duratuss G is pure guaifenisin (so I imagine could be in some cough meds).

How it helps pain isn't clear to me - LLMD only explained that since mucous

secretions are thicker in Lyme/fibro patients, this thins them and dulls the

pain. I can't imagine it helping more than narcotic pain relievers - I figure

it's an alternative for those of us not wishing to take them (I know how they

effect me, and don't want to do anything to increase my brain fogginess;-)
