Hello All,

I am kind of new from being diagnosed with Lyme and wanted to know if

someone or a few people can tell me what is mainly being used these days

to aggressively treat Lyme? I don't think my doc knows what to treat

me with and is not treating me strong enough. Is the best stuff that

Zith that everyone keeps talking about? How much of it a day? Also,

what is the best thing for bebesia? I think some people have been

talking about something that starts with an M for bebesia....is this med

an antiparasitic or something? Thank you ahead of time, JL

HI, As I am sure other people on this great list will tell you, There really

is no one drug best used for treating Lyme. The disease responds to different

antibiotics but it is different for each individual. The drug Ceftin is the

only drug approved in the US for treating Lyme yet failures have been

reported with this drug as well. The longer a patient has had lyme the harder

it its to treat and it is important to get a doctor who will review your case

history and clinical symptoms in order to decide which treatment is right for

you. Please check out Dr. Burascano's treatment Guidlines which can be found

at www.lymenet.org This has great information on the different types of drug

therapies used by one of the best lyme pysicians in the country. He also

reviews treatments for Bazbesia The drug starting with an M is called Mepron

(atovaquone) and it is an anti protozon used to treat different parasites one

of which is the piroplasm babesia. Ps this is a great list for information.

Everyone here is very understandign and helpful. Welcome! Feel better -Val
