Guest guest
Dear Sharon, all may not be lost, Look on your insurance card, it should have a 1-800 number on it for mental health. Give them a call, they should be able to approve it. Hope this works! Deb-va
Guest guest
The insurance gurus have the game down pat. They pull this last-minute crap on you hoping that you'll just give up on the treatment you're requesting. And lots of people do just give up. That's how they continue to get away with it. There must be a place online where this sort of thing can be reported.
Guest guest
I have to vent, I just cried for a hour and called my mom and cried some more. I have just had about all the pressure I can take at this point. Even my celexa can't keep me calm and stop my tears. Those of you who know me, know that Mike has been so sick with lyme and has brain damage and learning problems because of the misdiagnosis of schizo that kept him off treatment for a year while the brain was being attacked. This is all documented and the insurance gurus all know it is an ongoing problem We set up an app't a month ago with the psychologist who tests his brain and prescribes rehab therapy to help him learn to read again. I went through all the hoops and made the calls, etc. The app't is tom'w. The dr. calls this morning to tell me the insurance has denied the app't. No real reason except now they are saying we shouldn't have gone through mental health but regular health. It makes no sense, I am back at square one and am so upset. Why do they make everything so hard for us. It is there in black and white, the kid has hypoprofusion, can't read, needs therapy, all according to the dr. they approved to treat him for that. SCREAMMMMMMMM!!!!! These little insurance gurus are probably uneducated phone jockeys who don't even know how lyme works and they are denying my son therapy to help him be a normal man someday. I need to go, I feel the tears starting up again and I have to get it together to make more phone calls. Sharon
Guest guest
Oh, poor Sharon, These insurance problems are the last thing we need with all the other problems that we have! I'm not sure how your insurance works, but can't Mike's PCP give you the referral to the psychologist? You seem to have mounds of tests that show that Mike NEEDS this treatment... It's possible that the app't was denied by some idiot who doesn't know what they're doing....don't give up! Let us know how you do.
