Guest guest
Hi Jane & Sheila, None of us who give advice on this list are MD's, we do have one, but she wisely declines giving advice medically, as she is fighting this disease herself. We only offer advice and relate our own experiences with this disease, and often refer to Dr Burrascano's protocol when treating LD, or our own doctors. We always advise the patient to find a LLMD for help, in poor Sheila's case, she is not likely to find one in UK. I hope that Nick can convince Sheila's doctor that the LUAT is a confirmatory test, and reliable in the diagnosis of LD, here in the states it is not, nor is any test other than the damn ELISA and WB, and we can hardly call them reliable. Lyme disease is a clinical diagnosis based on symptoms. I am not sure that 100mg of doxy BID would effect a herxheimer reaction, but it is worth the try, I was thinking larger doses to help with the symptoms she has experienced all these years as well. Whatever she decides, she needs our support. Guest guest
Howdy, I think in my post I had meant 100 tid, not bid. And I have never been under the impression that there is a cure for LD, maybe remission, but no cure.so if it would provoke a herx maybe then her Dr will take LD seriously. Pepi Pepi, (and Sheila)100mg BID will not CURE Lyme, but would likely provoke a herx. Neurolyme
