The NYC Health Dept. has a Press. Release dated May 27, 1999, that warns

against Lyme ticks in all NYC parks. I phoned them to get it and it was duly

sent, but they are not advertising it, which of course they should.

If birds fly, the ticks are here.

Joan,

Thanks - this is a huge help. I will try to get this so I can include it in

the next round of letters that I am going to send to legislators in New York

concerning the OPMC. Many of them live in NYC ......

Brand

Hi ,

I have been away from the list for awhile, and was just trying to catch up on

the digested form of this list in my box, and read your note. I want to say

that I have been seeing Dr Cheney as well, and might have a few suggestions

to pass along.

I would like to clarify your question though....I would like to know

specifically why you can't go on the Olive Leaf extract? Did you mean you

feel so awful already, you don't want to risk feeling worse? Is that right?

Could you also briefly explain what else you have tried for the yeast that

you feel wasn't successful?

First suggestion is in regard to the low blood pressure. If this could be

related to low blood volume...which I have heard often that it is, in

CFIDS....Dr Cheney has just suggested to me, a drink

called...Glookinate...[sp?]. It is a special drink that is on the idea of

Gatorade, but has been designed by a bio-chemist who was a marathon runner

and needed a drink that kept him hydrated during running. Dr Cheney claims it

is aborbed through the stomach lining in 5 minutes, and can help with low

blood volume. I haven't tried it yet. I think he said I could get it at

Needs 800-634-1380.

As far as your stomach problems, and yeast....have you visited the

Progressive News site, that has been mentioned on this list often? It

devotes a lot of time to stomach problems, yeast problems. Apple cider

vinegar seems to be the current recommendation, but I would go and read it

for yourself.

I am not on antibiotics, but if I were, I would be replacing beneficial

bacteria daily. I have had success on occassion with homemade yogurt.

Fermenting it for 24 hours, takes out the lactose, and I can tolerate it very

well. I have had trouble with other supplemental probiotics.

Good luck,

Jane

Subject: Re: No Sweat

I think sweating is very important and I remember rarely breaking a sweat in

the early stages of my illness about 20 years ago. I do much better in

summer when it gets hot and I start sweating. I'd get in the sauna - Ive

notice my ability to sweat inthe sauna increases over time - so maybe there

is some internal learning going on.

>>

I have had trouble with not sweating enough in the past. I wanted to learn

whether I could sweat right or not, so I started going to the sauna. Sure

enough, I was able to sweat, but, evidently, my " thermostat " seems to be set

higher than most. It takes me longer to start sweating, than others in the

sauna. But once I start, I have no trouble sweating. I have felt much

better after repeated saunas, but steam baths have not been as helpful to me.

I also found over time, that my ability to sweat improved.

One suggestion for anyone wanting to try saunas...I have wanted to stop going

to the Health Club...and considered getting a sauna for home, but got the

idea that I could use my car in the summer...lol...

funny idea I know, but it works.

Any day that the sun is strong, my car gets like an oven. So I take a towel

and put it on the seat...bring a kitchen timer, and a magazine, and take a

sauna...followed by a shower. It is not as hot as the sauna, so it takes

longer, but it does work.

I do want to caution people on trying saunas. I took the risk, and it is a

risk. I evidently can tolerate them well [i have been doing them for over a

year] but I imagine not everyone can. Heart conditions might be a

contraindication. Also, I don't have as much problems with low blood

pressure as some do, although I would think that high blood pressure would be

more of a problem.

Still it is a good idea to check with your Dr to see how he feels about you

trying this first. If you do decide to try it...drink lots of water before

during and after. Start out slow for 5 mins...10 mins next time, etc. to be

safe.

Good luck...

Jane

Hey ! I think a camp for us long time JRAers is a great idea! I have

thought it would be cool to have us old timers plan a camp for the kiddos and

their families! We have been there and done that and nothing counts like

experience.LOL I have helped at Camp Mash in Alabama and it was such fun! By

the way which state are you in?

You gotta wonder WHICH drugs THEY were on! We all know that doctors often

abuse the medications they prescribe. Not only desperate to drive your bushbike

into a tree, but probably on Seroxat, as well.

Think your antidepressant is safe? Think again.

OMG They have a term for this drug combo -- ROCKET FUEL???? You mean, it's

like a SPEEDBALL (heroin and cocaine)? I always thought this doctor was a

quack and totally responsible for the deaths of those poor children. And yet

sits in prison. Disgusting.

Yes, we produce ANH vco, but we do not sell

commercially. You might mean Tess Mamangun. By the

way, could you please lead me to the file/s of the

Lou ratings by our members. Am interested in

trying to find out how it is made and from where. I

tried a bottle for cooking and it did not taste at

all. It must be RBD.

Thanks.
