Guest guest
Me Mom/: I hope the metho does help you. It seems to work real well for me. You have been through so much and you are a constant source of encouragement to me. You always seem to have such a great outlook. God Bless you. Guest guest
That's great news. Hopefully that will do the trick and you'll be feeling better soon. Guest guest
, I'm sorry your pain is so bad. Can't they figure out something to give you for the pain while you are waiting to see if the methotrexate will work? Will you be injecting the methotrexate? That might be safer than the oral form for you. I'd ask about your docs about that. In any case, I hope it does the trick. Guest guest
Hi , I am so sorry for the delay. I haven't felt great and my daughter went to a senior prom last night. The GI doctor did approve of me going back on Metho, and thank God. I have been in so much pain, I didn't know it could get this bad. Plus the stomach thing. Yes all these doctors do make my head spin. Especially since I try to keep them all informed. This is an effort to make sure everybody gets everything. Hope you have a good week-end. Guest guest
Hi Jan, I'm sorry it has taken me a couple od days to get back to you. I didn't feel well and was waiting for the GI doctor to call me back for the okay to resume the metho. He called yesterday but I had started the medicine that morning. I decided it wasn't helping anything to wait. I saw the primary and he is going to call Dr. Long from the U. of P.. He wants to consult with him and to the effects of long term stenting and the comlications of the surgery. He is suppose to let me know what happens. Have a good day, Me Mom ---------- > From: burnettaljanb@... > > Subject: Re: [ ] metho > Date: Wednesday, May 30, 2001 8:17 PM > > Me Mom/: I hope the metho does help you. Guest guest
Hi , It has been a few days of everything. Cherylynn went to a senior prom last night. She got dressed at a friends house and I was to go over and see her. I ran into so much traffic they had already left. So lynn, my dil and myself raced to the next hous they went too. I did catch up to her and got the pictures. She looked so pretty. I'm back on the metho, thank God I just couldn't deal with anymore pain. So I hope in a few days to have the pain level down. My primary is calling Dr. Long. He told me since this doctor wants to be kept informed he wanted to call him and get all the information on this he can. My primary has never had a patient have this and he wants more information. I am relieved he is doing this, he is suppose to call me when he talks to him. The stomach is as it was yesterday I felt good until I ate a muffin, so I don't know. How are you guys doing? Hope you have a good week-end. I don't think all the e-mail are going through? Guest guest
Me Mom , I hope you get relief from the mtx. I know how bad you feel. I've only been without mtx and enbrel for 2 weeks, and I am in so much pain that I'm ready to take my meds even with bronchitis. I hope it works so that you can drop the prednisone, but please take it slow. My prayers are with you for your meds to work. a -----Original Message----- From: Ruf-Caimi [mailto:ruf-caimi@...] Sent: Wednesday, May 30, 2001 5:07 PM Subject: [ ] metho Hi Guys, I called the Rheumy today, I have so much pain everywhere. Guest guest
Sorry I don't write often but some issues intrigue me. The methtrexate is one of them. I am on widow's disability so my payment is based on my husband social security.I am on a program to get the methotrexate for free. This month it was completely screwed up,so I am out.We were out tonight and stopped at a Perkin's.For the first time in literally years I craved a French Dip with roast beef. That is the first time I have craved any thing since I went on the drug 7 years ago.i sure know where the anorexia like symptoms come from! It tasted great! Of course it will be back on the metho and no more cravings. Does anyone know if some of the new drugs have low-income programs?? Thanks,Joyce By the way are there any widows over 55 on this list? Guest guest
Joyce, I know that Enbrel has a program and believe that a few others do. Hugs. Tery
Guest guest
That's for sure. The pills made me feel terrible for half of the week and I was only taking 3 or 4. Now at the equivalent of 8 I am sitting here and I fell pretty good 2 1/2 hours after the injection Annette On 6/23/05, DeNicola <sdenicola@...> wrote: > > > > Hi Nina, > Most of the people that take the metho injection do so b/c they get > nausea from the pills.Steph in VA > > > >
Guest guest
Steph in VA wrote: “Most of the people that take the metho injection do so b/c they get nausea from the pills.” This was not the case in my situation. I was on 6 mtx pills/week for about 3 years when my lab tests started showing an elevation in my liver enzymes. As these tests continued to be abnormal, I went off the pills for about 8 months, at which time I began the injectable mtx, 0.6 cc/week. That was in early 2000 and have had no elevation in my liver counts since. My RA doc said that when these pills are taken orally they hit your liver all at once, but when it is injected subcutaneously, the meds reach the liver gradually, a little bit at a time, thus it is not so hard on the liver. Also, I have not found it a bit hard to give myself the injections. I hope this helps.

I hope this helps. Thanks for telling us this. Maybe I can tolerate it by injection. I'll have to make an appt. and talk to the doc about it. My sister (a nurse) taught me years ago how to inject myself. We started with saline and an orange. Worked my way up to injecting her with B12 and then myself with the hormones. Guest guest
, I took the pill form and was so tired all the time, I finally just quit taking it. But mostly I was just trying to cut back on money because the Enbrel cost so much. But I haven't taken it in about 5 months and I'm not near as tired as I was when I took it. I still take the enbrel though. I can't tell that much difference. Beth > > I was wondering if anyone can help with this issue. I have taken metho by injection for five years now. It is done every week. However, now one the day I do the injection I am so tired. I just can't stay awake. So instead of doing the injection every week I have been doing it every ten days. I am not sure it is really helping me with the pain. I was just wondering if anyone has had this side effect. I am considering coming off this drug. > (MeMom) > >
Guest guest
Thank you Beth. The only time I have this terrible fatigue is on the day I do the metho. I think maybe it is time to stop it. I have found more relief from fish oil then any thing. Not saying it would work for anyone else but it has helped me. Thank you for your help, I appreciate it. -------------- Original message -------------- From: " mightybeth2001 " <mightybeth2001@...> , I took the pill form and was so tired all the time, I finally just quit taking it.
