Hi everyone- I have a wonderful man in my life. We have been together since 11/2003. I am on disability and I have to say that I cannot marry him though we have talked about it several times. I told him . His insurance wouldn't come close to covering my meds or copays, and since his income becomes my income, I cant afford to marry him. Now that medicare part D is coming, and my prescription coverage wont be paid by the state anymore, Does anybody know if we are penalized like we would be if we were on state aid? Yours, Deborah

Anything you are eligible will be affected because his income becomes yours. I'm in the same position. I could divorce my husband of 35 years and be eligible for all kinds of help, but it's not going to happen.
