Guest guest
Eva San Pelligrino is sparkling water and I'm sure that's fine, but tonic water has high fructose corn syrup in it (unless you can find that one corn free tonic sold in connecticut). But even if you did, tonic is still a sweetened beverage (at least it is in the US, I'm not sure what tonic would be in other countries. nancy
Guest guest
Is seltzer the same as tonic water, is it like San Pelligrino? I never find anything called " seltzer water " in the stores. Would sparkling mineral water (like Perrier) be equally beneficial? Eva > > And, try flavored seltzer water about 1/2 hour before > > bed. They make lemon and lime flavors. " Sparkling waters " seem to be less carbonated to me. When I've read the ingredients for tonic water, it has other stuff added to it. Carbonated water. The carbonation is what helps with gas so mineral water wouldn't be the same. Canada Dry is one brand name and my King Soopers (Kroger) also has their own brand. I use the plain to make my own ginger ale (I think I posted that recipe earlier if you look through the archieves) or add it to pineapple or cherry juice (sometimes the juice straight is just too sweet). Does that help?

Guest guest
Gerolsteiners is an excellent Mineral Water. I drink San Pellegrino (which is naturally carbonated rather than having carbonation pumped into it. The reason I buy San Pellegrino is I can buy a 12-count case of 25.3 oz bottles for only $9.99. I buy one a week and drink one or two bottles a day. Re: Re: Keep it simple > Is seltzer the same as tonic water, is it like San Pelligrino? Guest guest
Hi Eva, ] Safeway stores have Seltzer Water and Club Soda (both beneficial) in 2 Liter bottles for 99¢ (on sale 79¢). Other grocers seem to have small bottles of Seltzer (Canada Dry). Hope that helps. lorrie -

Guest guest
Funny how a few of you have been talking about making your life simpler. I've been cleaning out closets and getting rid of stuff I don't use anymore - to make my life simpler - although I'm only 45, I just can't keep up with it all anymore. Simpler is easier and less stress. Unfortunately I also had to make a difficult decision over the weekend, as my precious (cat), who is 19 years old, 92 in human, has been really sick and very old. Tonight she rests in kitty heaven. She's been with me almost half of my life. So I'm a bit bummed. But I still have my 2 precious Beagles, Angel and (aka Hoover) - Hoover as in "vacuum" - if you've ever seen a beagle hunt you will know what I mean. and Vera Penick <vppp@...> wrote: You gals have the right idea. One picture of each grandchild and that's it.We live in a mobile home park in Florida and our lots are small. We will have grass, a sprinkler system and someone to cut the grass but no trees or bushes. I've done my share of yard work! We never open up the house because we have allergies and we like to keep the dust out. If it gets too warm we turn on the A/C and if it gets cold we turn on the heat. Guest guest
Hi Sunshine, I'm sorry about the loss of your cat. She lived a long life. We have a beagle too and Hoover would describe her! LOL She sucks up everything! We also have 3 ferrets and a golden retreiver. About making the house easier to manage...Ours isn't so hard to keep up with inside. The yard is the hardest part but we'll be making some adjustments to it this summer to make it easier on us. There are 3 of us, my husband (46), our son (19) and myself (45). At this age our son still helps out whenever we dangle a carrot in front of him <rollseyes>. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Maggie http://www.4HockeyFans.com http://www.4FloridaHockey.com MSN: Maggies1429 AOL: Maggies85 sunshine wrote: > Funny how a few of you have been talking about making your life > simpler. Guest guest
The response from everyone about keeping it simple is inspiring. I am trying to help my guy move out of his current tiny house and find another house suitable for both of us. I am mired down with a mountain of plain ol. crap that I just seem to have accumulated. You buy things on impulse etc, and then when you try to clean things out, you are shocked at what you have to wede through. My guy is a hoarder and you cant even begin to imagine the years of time magazines and hundreds of rolling stones, book club buys etc he collected over the years. Trying to separate him from those things has been very hard. Trying to empty a house that is buried in impulse buys, and non perishables is overwhelming. Between the two of us, we are buried alive. I am trying to organize and clean small sections of each drawer, but it is a daunting task. Our next place will be clutter free, that's a promise I made myself. I even overbought non perishables and those have to go too. I am only 44 but feel a lot older. I have no inspiration to do anything when I am feeling bad and that seems like all the time now. I have an eighth of the energy I had this time last year. I think some of you can relate. If anyone has tips or tricks on how they organize or simplify, please dont hesitate to chime in. Be well, everyone......Deborah

Guest guest
I feel the same way. When the floors get refinished I will bring in very few items. I will try and make sure everything can be easily wiped down. What ever this thing was that hit our family has changed me for life. I will never look at things the same way again. Ease of cleaning and like you said ......minimalistic approach. What an ordeal. Here's to us all............good luck and God bless. Rita Re: Walls and ceilings I don't know if anyone else has felt like this or not, But you know Rita, in the beginning for me I was so overwhelmed, I couldn't put things together. I couldn't get the environment under control enough to be able to just sit and "think". You know... take a deep breath and formulate a plan, let alone know how to and when to carry it out it. Does that make any sense? Then came the continual wiping, washing, drying, sweeping, mopping, spraying... repeating the same chores... day in and day out... Geez... there wasn't enough time to do anything else. But now that we're towards the end of it all,... hopefully... I feel that every decision that I have made along the way, were the right ones for my family and myself. Like you, we ditched everything. Keeping them wasn't worth it. Very few things I saved. It'll be fun redecorating and fixing things up again. Although this time I think I'll take a minimalistic approach to Interior Design! "Less is Better"! Now that I look back on everything that we have been through and the thousands upon thousands of dollars that I have lost & spent and still need to spend... there is nothing I would have done differently. If I have to do it over again... I will do it the same way. We worked with the ideas, knowledge & proven techniques from everyone on the list. We came up with a plan that is working for us. Like you... I'll wait a year before truly feeling like these things are gone. I am so happy that you and your husband were finally able to get rid of this demon. God Bless & Hugs to both of you! >> Right on!!!!! There has been a lot of talk about the walls and ceiling. It took me a year to finally decide that I had to throw everything away. This was thousands upon thousands of dollars out to the curb. But, once I reach this point and had realized that I had to look at this as a major infestation problem things started to slowly and I mean slowly get better. We slapped paint every where we could and then sprayed Clorox and salt every where. Our rooms are bare but it's bug free now. It's a true nightmare and what we have had to do to rid our skin of these things is like nothing I have ever heard of. I was co2ing my car but I spray it with the cedar oil now. I'm like you.....I'm too afraid to stop treatment. I will have to have a year under my belt to feel comfortable in letting up with the salt and Clorox. What an ordeal........hang in there and keep pouring it on the little demons from hell. Rita> No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG. That sums it all up. " Things " in my case involve ideas, spirituality, attitudes toward those I had been taught to trust, as well as every piece of the physical environment. There is no way to convey how infinitely far reaching this abomination is in our lives. Bessie
