Guest guest
Good morning! Have any of you had the nasty experience of having a pinched nerve in the spine area?? If so, what was your treatment and what helped the most?? has RA and a month ago he has his first infusion of Remicade. Two days later he was in great pain and a numb spot on his leg. We thought for awhile it was a side effect from the Remicade but since it has gone on for so long that is no longer the thinking. X-rays were no help. He had an MRI yesterday and is scheduled for a shot at the base of the spine later today. In the mean time they keep giving him pain pills. We are frustrated! Guest guest
Hi- If there is a herniation of a disc, it can move and pinch a surround nerve. Also if he has degeneration of the spine, there can be a jagged edge which can aggravate the surrounding nerves and tissue. RA can cause OA very easily in men especially in the spine. A chiropractor could help. My guy has a herniated disk and its the stabbing pain down the back and leg so he couldn't walk. The key is to find out what is pinching the nerve. Usually heating or icing the area will help relax the muscles that lay over the nerve. The essential advice is to get the tissue that the nerve is in less swollen or more relaxed. Muscle relaxants can help, so that it will settle back to normal. Just my experience with two people with pinched nerves. Has he had an MRI or bone scan yet?? That would help. Hope things get better for you..........Happy 4th.......Deborah
