Hi Janet,

I have used the Restonic sleep mattress which is similar to the TemperaPedic but we bought us a new mattress and it has a pillow topper on it but I liked my memory foam much more and my upper back did not hurt them but is starting to hurt me more. I looked for a twin size topper that I found at tone in the Mall in Austin, Texas but it was $299.00 which I think is very steep considering what I paid for the Restoic. My husband does not like the memory foam and so I couldn't get the one that I wanted.

If I can be of any help or service please write me back at txkat@....

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Subject: Any good suggestions on mattresses!

Hi all,I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with the temperpedic mattresses. I am in the market for a new bed and a nurse practitioner friend of mine said that all the doctors are recommending these for their patients with arthritis and or back problems. They are very expensive and I thought I'd better research a bit. Just wondering if anyone has any input. You can email me privately or on the list. Thanks. Janet

Hi Janet,

I have a 2 " temperpedic mattress topper. I think it is wonderful. I do

not think a full mattress would be the best for me because it is much

harder to roll over on just the 2 " pad. You sink in and are supported

very well, and it also keeps your joints warmer.

I would go to the store and lie down on one for 5-10 min and see how

well you can roll over. I have to change positions every 1/2 hour or so

all night. The great thing is my husband doesn't feel me moving around

as much. The temperpedic reduces the motion to the rest of the bed. My

2 " mattress topper was much less expensive than the whole mattress and

if the mattress you have now isn't fully gone the topper will make it

like new. You can put off buying a new one for a couple years. Then

decide if a full mattress is how you want to go. You can get the

toppers for a really good price if you look around some. They come in

different thicknesses as well. Just my 2cents.

Hi, I just joined this group and thought I would respond to you. I haven't tried a temperpedic mattress but I do know that if you look hard you might be able to find you a foam mattress that is just like those without paying for the name on the mattress. I sell mattresses as a side job and have just gotten in a foam mattress that does have coils on the inside just for support but you can not feel them. I could probably tell you more in a little over a month about how it feels after we get it set up in our house. I did also get my parents this same mattress. My father is an electrician and air conditioning person so he is in a truck and on his feet most of the day. He likes it and is sleeping well on it. My mother got hit by a loaded dump truck and has had back problems for over 10 years because of it and she is sleeping better. I know that the one I have bought sells for about 800 for the mattress and foundations in a king size. If you could tell me where you are located the company I deal with may have a dealer close to you and I could get you that info for them if you would like.

We have had mechanical beds for almost twenty years. I put a 2 "

memory foam (temperpedic) pad on my regular mattress and it made a

tremenmdous difference for a lot less money than the whole mattress

set. The temperpedic has a standard foam base with a memory foam

pad on top, and I got much the same effect without giving up the

adjustable bed. I have a tendency to sleep on my side and my

shoulders really bothered me.

With the memory foam pad, my I can sleep on my side for a lot longer

than I could on a regular mattress. (When I'm really bad, though I

still have to sleep in the recliner.)
