Guest guest
Hi All, As recommended to me by my mother-in-law, who is really into this, I am thinking about taking Celadrin, Emu Oil and MSM for inflammation and joint support, and Primal Defense for digestion. Does anybody have experience with these? I am not sure if I can take these with the Humira I take for my RA because it warns about certain herbs but of course doesn't say which ones! It may be somethings I end up taking when and if I try to conceive a child because I would want to be off all meds then. I called the Humira medical info line but they couldn't tell me anything because they had never done clinical studies that included supplements. We determined that it was my mail-order pharmacy that put the warning sticker on the box Thanks,
Guest guest
Hi ......first check with your Doc about anything you take...or pharmacists. The Celadrin....sorry..don't know anything about it. Emu oil....never took it internally...so can't tell ya there...but Emu is a Transdermal oil.....applied topically....It has healing properties, anti-inflamatory properties and anti-bacterial properties.....Usually is used Staight up or in a cream.....also used in a cream with MSM and White Willow Bark Extract OR Arnica Extract for temporary relief of joint and muscle pain. Usually a Cream is also combined with a Menthol for a deep heating rub/cream. MSM...taken orally ..is a type of sulfur that we all Have...tho most likely we don't have enough...from eating processed foods these days. It will DETOX you.....most start out with 1/8 teaspoon a day mixed with water....then increase it after a couple of days to 1/4 teaspoon.....then after a few days 1/2 teaspoon then 1 teaspoon daily.......Cleans you out...LOL. It is reported to clean toxins from your body.....reported to help with joint pain. I started taking it orally a few years ago.....then forgot it.....might try it again...tho have to clear it with RA doc. I wasn't in pain back then...so don't know if it helps RA....I was just doing the detox...... Guest guest
My RA put me on them because she said it helped to lubricate the joints. The Vet said the same thing when they put the dog on it 2 years ago. Guest guest
Stacey, I take Glucosamine and Chondritin (with MSM for my Fibro). It helps with the Mtx and other drugs. Guest guest
How does it help with the MTX? I stopped taking MTX because I just couldn't take the side effects anymore (headaches, nauseau, tired, couldn't think). But the sulfasalazine is not working as well and I've been thinking about going back to the MTX. (I'm also on plaquinil, volatrin & humira & folic acid). Guest guest
Dear - You might try Arava or Imuran or Cyclosporine. They are old but reliable. Google these three and ask your doctor what your preference is. Hugs, DeborahOn 6/1/06, Krauss <sekrauss@...> wrote: How does it help with the MTX?
