Guest guest
Hi .......I've been in a TEAR Study for almost a year now....haven't gone into remission yet....have days that are better and of course over do it....gotta learn to budget those good days.....LOL. I'm 41 now.....not in menopause yet...tho the hot flashes and night sweats make it seem that way...all blood work comes back normal on hormones. So don't know what remission feels like yet...tho still hopeful. According to my paper work at the Rheumy's....they are treating me for Agressive RA....tho with my luck lately.....I don't doubt that some of my meds are placeboes.. .....(@@). I can tell when it's time for the MTX ....and can't tell any difference with the enbrel ...when I stop it for infections....I can't tell that I didn't take it...but if I have to miss the MTX dosage...I can TELL really fast... Could be enbrel is the real thing and it's not working for me....Won't know til the study ends tho.....I just take it one day at a time. Guest guest
Carla, My RA doctor asked about me doing a study on a new drug for RA and one of my concerns was that how do I know I'm not getting placebo because some of the people in the study are given placebo. I'd waste a year and a half of time I could be on something that works better for me like Humira, Enbrel or Remicade. I'd love to help but don't want to waste anymore time fixing myself. So could be like you said that what you are in the study for doesn't work for you...guess you won't know til it's over? Good luck..I hope you get better. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Maggie http://www.4HockeyFans.com http://www.4FloridaHockey.com MSN: Maggies1429 AOL: Maggies85 frogge wrote: >Hi .......I've been in a TEAR Study for almost a year >now....haven't gone into remission yet....have days that are better > and of course over do it....gotta learn to budget those good >days.....LOL. Guest guest
I think that I've got the insidious RA. It was described as smouldering and has never truly gone though the Methotrexate has kept it pretty quiet until this past year. I too went on a trial drug and they were pretty fussy about other medications. Every time I took something new they fussed but I never thought of asking for permission. Of course my study only lasted 12 weeks, and got pulled a week before the end so it wasn't the same as yours. If I were to go on another one I would have to wait a few months for this drug or placebo to clear out of my system. Guest guest
Hi Sam, It is common for RA to flare after birth because of hormones and/or the experience is traumatic to the body. My rheumy has said he feels I should do well during pregnancy, even without meds, but I will not be able to breastfeed because I will need to go back on my meds right away. If Remicade is still working for me when I plan a pregnancy, he mentioned infused me again in the hospital after I have the baby. I just got engaged & am not getting married until next May but it is comforting to know my rheumy has a plan if we choose to have a baby in the future. Take care, Steph in VA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>Hi ...>I was first diagnosed at age 16.
