Guest guest
Hi Deb, Welcome to the list, looks like you got the old Lyme disease two step from your doctor, especially in Michigan where you hail from they definitely don't want to be involved with LD. Did you ever dream in your wildest imagination that one could be ill from a disease and their physician would be less than willing to treat??? It is mind boggling, but due to the political climate in Michigan and elsewhere in the US when it comes to treating Lyme disease, the less than honorable doctors run the other way. We have many list members who live in Michigan, I am sure you will be hearing from them, but if not, here is a website where there is a list of support groups in Michigan who may be able to help you find a good caring physician who will help you. http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/Spa/6772/michigan-patients.txt You are right, there is not such thing as equivocal LD, or ehrlichiosis. Call this doctor back and demand an rx for doxycycline minimum 100mg twice daily, more if you can get it. Tell him you learned that the ehrlichiosis diseases, Human Monocytic Ehrlichiosis, and Human Granulocytic Ehrlichiosis can be FATAL if left untreated. I am sure he will be glad to give you a prescription in order to avoid a lawsuit down the way. It will hold you over till you can find a better doctor. Please keep us posted on your progress.
