I don't use Outlook Express now but when I did I never had any problems with any animations or anyone's stationery. In fact I made my own stationery using Outlook. I have not read nor gotten any mail besides yours that anyone was having any problems. Maybe it is your computer. Maybe you have some adware or spyware on it and it is causing you problems. Just suggestions.

It's all this animated stuff in your stationery. I can read this one, but it still locks Outlook Express up.

Every time "Kathy Shirlene ........" posts, it locks up my computer and I am unable to delete the message and/or read it. You are running something with "active x controls," stationary, maybe? If so, could you please not send to the list with this? I'm sure I'm not the only one this is happening to.

Kathy Shirlene, there has been more than one person speak of the trouble with your messages. They are not difficult to read now since you got rid of the background but still coming through with the Active X programming.

I quit using Thunderbird a while back. Had too many problems with it. I'm

using Outlook Express, which is what most of the public uses.

I finally had to filter everything from that address to go directly into the

trash folder. Then I have to delete everything in that folder without going

to it. If I go to trash with it in there, it locks up my Outlook Express.

I think all she has to do is stop using animated stationery. Many lists

don't allow attachments so you can't use animated stationery. If you're

receiving your email as plain text instead of HTML, it probably won't cause

a problem.

I use Mozilla FireFox, but not Thunderbird. Since most of the world uses

Windows based products (such as IE and OE), people should probably gear

toward that. I'm not changing software to accommodate one person's need to

use fancy stationery. I don't normally have problems with stationery, but

this animated stuff is a problem for me (not to mention it's so busy you

can't read the words on it!).

I don't have a problem unsubbing and finding another group if the animated

stationery is that important to the rest of you.

The lists that I run I don't allow anything

but plain text due to virus's, so everything comes in plain text.

The lists I run with the exception of one genealogy one (due to family

photos) are run without attachments for the same reason.

Oh, and I do run anti-spyware/adware every day to clean my computer. So the

problem isn't with spyware.
