My doc gave me a flu shot last year, but wouldn't give me the pneumonia vaccine because I'm on Prednisone. Said you can't take vaccines if you are on Prednisone.

I have heard that the nasal spray vaccine is a live vaccine that we should avoid. However, my doctors all recommend that I get an annual flu shot and the pneumonia vaccine on schedule every few years. God bless.

Subject: should I get a flu shot, also RA and transfusion

I was just wondering about getting a flu or pneumonia vaccine this year. I am a little concerned as to how they work and how will they effect my body. I haven't had a cold or flu in a very long time but it is not much consolation considering my many other medical problems.I have another question. My RA came about a month after I had 2 units of blood transfused. Is this a coincidence or is there some research to suggest there is a realation between the two? Thanks for any info you guys can provide.Janice

Getting shots is a very personal decision. There is so much controversy

over the flu shot, I wouldn't even consider having one myself.
