Guest guest
June, That was one of my first problems with Lyme. The spasms actually showed up, on barium swallow, as a feathering affect. It also caused rapid transiet. The barium made the full travel in 15 minutes! Fortunately, it was a temporary deal, lasting only a few months, and I have had no recurrence. I have had MANY strange things with this disease. I can no longer eat any kind of meat except seafood or foul due to an allergic reaction that causes my whole body to become one big hive, closes my throat and fills my lungs with fluid. There is no doubt that it can really screw up the immune system. It actually only lasted a few months also, in the beginning, and went away. Then I was reinfected 4 years later (bullseye rash and all), and despite immediate abx treatment for that one, exactly 2 weeks later just like the first bite, it came back (I think it just set off cetes from the previous infection) and this time it never left. I miss my BBQ'd ribs!!! Sometimes I get hives for no obvious reason at all. Tells me the critters can also be in your skin. Bet you got preached at about stress and all the other goodies that come with IB!! I KNEW it wasn't stress!! My life was going great when I contracted Lyme. Anyway, just remember that Lyme can do ANYTHING to you!!!! With the exception of an occasional cold or the flu everything that has made me sick in the last 10 1/2 years was because of the Lyme. I've been experiencing new problems lately too. What's happening to me now, to the best of my knowledge, mimics TMJ. Never had it before. Here's hoping that IB leaves you soon too!!
