Guest guest
Had my eye exam yesterday so I could get my Plaquenil refilled. Everything looks good he said. Said I should be much more worried about what the Prednisone will do to my eyesight than the Plaquenil. His experience has been that his patients suffer more from the Prednisone than the Plaquenil. Said I would most likely get cataracts if I continue taking Prednisone and should get off it if at all possible. Nina
Guest guest
The risk is really really low-it's more of your doctor just covering all the bases. There have actually been several recent studies/reviews that show no ocular problems. It's still best to be safe, though. They will probably put dilating drops in your eyes (so take your sunglasses!) so they can get a really good look at everything. Let me know if you have more ?s-Ann > Went to the rheum the other day, and she tells me I need to have > the 'Plaquenil eye exam', and gave me this adorable prescription for > it. > > I knew that there is a risk of ocular toxicity with Plaquenil - but how > common is it? > > And what exactly is involved in the eye exam?? > > > ------------------------------------ > > Visit the Still's Disease Message Board > http://disc.server.com/Indices/148599.html > > The materials and information contained in this message are not intended to > replace the services of a trained health professional or to be a substitute > for medical advice of physicians and/or other health care professionals.
