Guest guest
Dear Anne Marie- I find Remicade to be very dehydrating to my system. While I am being infused I drink bottled water and gatorade. You might also try taking benadryl the night before the infusion. It makes me sleepy so I take it the night before, and the antihistamine is still in my system so helps with any side effects. Dont forget that with low pressure systems that might come like the one we are having with the remnants of Katrina, I tend to get a migraine everyone now and then. Try to avoid caffiene and salt a few days before and after remicade, because they tend to be simply causes of headache also. I hope this helps. Guest guest
I find that Remicade seizes all the water in my body, and I dont know why. I found that drinking fluids, fruits and veggies, avoiding caffiene and salt do help. Keep your blood vessels and capillaries open and your cranial swelling or constriction might well be avoided. Guest guest
I also am on Remicade, for 3 months now. I never had headaches before, but now I am having them. They wake me up at night sometimes, and other times I wake up in the morning with them or they come during the day. My Rheumy gave me a prescription for some type of muscle relaxer that is supposed to relax the muscles around your head. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. So she gave me a prescription for a migrane med called Relpax. Ths stuff is unGodly expensive. But when nothing else works, I take one and it always works. The downside is I'm like a zombie for the rest of the day. Anyway, I share your pain with the Remicade headaches. Hang in there. Guest guest
Deborah Thanks. Didn't think of dehydration. Before each infusion they have to give me Benadryl and SoluMedrol because I have had a few side effects already. i will definitely increase my fluid intake to see if that helps. Thanks again AnneMarie > Dear Anne Marie- I find Remicade to be very dehydrating to my system. While > I am being infused I drink bottled water and gatorade. Guest guest
I think that any time you have an unexplained symptom you should let your doctor know. It will probably be ignored but some times it will lead to some new treatment. Your doctor may know of something to help with your headaches. God bless. ----- Original Message ----- From: amr408 Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Wednesday, August 31, 2005 10:40 PM Subject: Question on Remicade Hi everyoneI have a question to those of you who are on Remicade. I have been on it since Feb and I never got headaches. But since receiving Remicade I get frequent headaches that I wake up with. They aren't everyday but maybe 2 =4 times a week. For someone who never got them, should I be concerned.? Thanks in advanceAnneMarie
