Guest guest
Hi all on this quite nice morning! Thought I'd introduce myself! I'm err, Emma and live in the UK, after a diagnosis of Scarlet Fever, then having 'had' Stills Disease for 6 weeks I have a new diagnosis of post streptococcal reactive arthritis. I've been through the spiking fevers, etc, and am just left with the joint pain now which likes to affect different joints every day to keep me on my toes! I also have fluid around my heart (pericardial effusion) and have been off work for 2 1/2 months and I'm actually missing it! At the moment I'm only taking NSAID's, Preds and Omeprazole (I have a stomach ulcer and the NSAID's are very good for that!) For the first time since getting this nasty thing I'm having a quiet chuckle at the irony of the whole thing. You see, for years I've suffered from sore throats, tonsilitis and pharingitis, so I decided to have my tonsils out, and after being on the waiting list for a couple of years finally had it done in January. And as an adult it is as horrendous and painful as they say! So, when a couple of months later I get a sore throat I dont take much notice, it was probably nothing and I didnt want to take any more antibiotics! And this happens!! So to get rid of pain, I go through worse pain, to end up with even worse pain, thats going to last much longer! It probably doesnt seem that funny to some people, but if I didnt laugh I'd cry. So thats a little about me and my situation, extra bits include 1 partner, 2 kids and going to uni and I'm a student nurse. There, thats enough for any one to read! Hope to speak to you all soon Emma
