Guest guest
Hi - I have to tell you that while I have RA I also am being treated for internal adhesion disorder from previous surgery and hyperthyroid. For some odd reason, my thyroid is under control and I am gaining weight. I eat only one meal a day and that is extremely healthy, usually some honey wheat bread and butter, a salad or greens in a very small portion and a sweet potato. I think if your RA is under control and atkins works for you, than keep at it. Personally, any diet that has controlled portions is a good idea. Its a great discipline. If you should plateau and cant lose anymore than you can reassess your diet plan. Eating fruits and veggies and little meals works for most people. Good Luck and great about your Ritux results. Guest guest
Hi Deborah, the reason you would be gaining weight is that your body feels that you are starving it by eating only one meal a day. When the body gets food often it utilizes the food and gets rid of it but feeding the body once a day causes it to hold onto what calories it recieves and store them. To improve your bodies metabolism try eating 3 - 5 small portions per day with mostly fruit and veggies. You'll notice a remarkable change.
