Patty, You've the first person I've heard complain about this. I had severe ascites pre-transplant (didn't enjoy the taps much, but they sure helped for a few days); but never had that sloshing sound. I developed it about a year post-transplant and it sounded like a half full gallon of water. Ultrasound showed no ascites, my lft's were fine, and none of my docs were ever able to explain it. It gradually disappeared over a couple of years. Weird, huh. , Yes, liver disease can cause congestive heart failure... its usually resolved after the transplant due to relief of portal hypertension. Guest guest
Try changing the fats to olive oil, flaxseed oil mixed with yoghurt, fish oil and virgin coconut oil...... her gallbladder and brain will probably process these fats a whole lot better..... some sweet cream butter, too. mjh In a message dated 10/8/03 8:50:33 AM Eastern Daylight Time, writes: > because, if your actually trying to do the keto diet, you definetly need to > be under a doctors supervision. the keto diet consists of properly weighing > everylast bit of food and fluid, and it all must be consumed. > there are also vitamins that need to be taken with the diet, and dipstixs > for urine must be used everyday. there are risk factors for high cholestrial > and kidneystones > the diet is loaded with butter, there should be more fat then actual food. > i am just mimicing the diet for briana now, i am only allowing her to eat > food that was considered 'safe' for keto kids. i am not getting the results i > did with the actual diet, but it does help a little. > briana had to get off the diet because she could not handle the fat, and > started throwing up. i hated taking her off, cuz it was helping seizure control, > and cognative skills, but i could not force the food down. > it was hard during holidays and around other kids eating candy and stuff. > i MJH
Guest guest
Hey, Gang.. Just a quick note to tell you that I haven't dropped off the face of the earth yet, just hibernating and hoping that the mother of all flares decideds to let go some day. Do any of you know some non-medicinal remedies that I can use? My rhuematologist appt. isn't until next month and my PCP couldn't get me in until next Thursday..... Needless to say, too much stress and zero meds have made this hard going, so any help or suggestions at all would be appreciated. Guest guest
By the way,,,Capsaicin is a "pepper cream" ...it works by blocking pain receptors....I also recommend the book "Living well with Autoimmune Disease" by J. Shoman...I recently bought the paperback ($15.00) and it is a great resource.....things your dr. doesn't tell you..., things you may not have thought to ask....and most importantly....a great list of resources. One that we could all use is www.aarda.org , American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association....I do not know the author of this book, but I personally have gained a world of insight from it. Best to all, and never give up... p.s. still including the Arizona "dream home for us all" in my prayers/lottery dreams!!! Guest guest
Hi could I suggest you try meditation, go to http://www.centerpointe.com/links.php?ad=30783 and try it out free, there is a link at the bottom of the left side bar, please just listen with your eyes closed through a headset. For me this works wonders. Also I take a product high in antioxidants and all other nutrtients we need to sustain health and reduce the damages from stress, I talk about it at my website.....www.LivingWithRheumatoidArthritis.com and I invite you to check it out. You can also try a liquid fast, this is a very quick way to relieve pain, works for most people with RA......of course nothing works for all. Hope this is of help and if you would like to discuss other things that may help please feel free to email me in private.
