Guest guest
I have some questions about the Andy_protocol. Sorry!! I’m a second language. I’m confused on the dosage. It says 1/8 to 1 / 2 mg of DMSA per pound. My son is 164pounds what would be the right dosage? Pam suggests trying low dosage of 25mg with him right now. It makes sense since my DAN was trying too high dosage and my son did not respond well. However I want to be sure how much should be the right dosage. Also how many days should I have him on the 4hours of DMSA. 3 days on and 4 days off or 3 days on and 11 days off. I want to do it slow as possible. Should I have him less than three days on the DMSA every 4 hours? We just had a trial of DMSA the way my DAN told me to do it (not Andy_protocol ) on December 28 and 29. I was thinking and start the Andy profile small dosage in two weeks.  What can I do to prevent yeast overgrowth issues when chelating. Just using probiotic is enough? He is having one pill a day should I add more than one. Is anything else I can give to help with that? We had use in the pass Candidarrest and Flora restore (not together) from Xymoge Formulas. Does anybody have use activated charcoal to help with behaviors problems when they are chelating?  Thank you so much!!!!!! You can do this yourself with the DMSA you have from your MD: try giving DMSA every 4 hours (not 2 capsules per day) for 72 hours. Usually people chelate from Friday-Monday to avoid school hours. The dose for a child your size *can* be the 65mgs, but perhaps you should start with a lower dose like 25 mgs. I am confident that your son will tolerate DMSA every four hours much better than taking it every 12 or every 8 hours. It has to do with the half life of DMSA and keeping the blood levels of DMSA constant to avoid as much heavy metal redistribution as possible. For now, stop the NAC and just use the DMSA. You can add the NAC in later when you are more stable with the DMSA. Sometime NAC can cause problems, too. Keep up with the probiotics. Size and age do not determine if your child will tolerate chelation. Your school director has inaccurate information. What is important is the manner in which you chelate. Don't give up hope. Guest guest
Do not feel bad about asking questions and thank you for telling us English is a second language. If your son weighs 164lbs then the low dose (1/8) would be about 20mgs DMSA. The highest dose to give under these guidelines would be 82mgs DMSA (1/2). With very sensitive people, the starting dose of DMSA can be as low as 2.5 mgs. I don't think you need to start that low because I believe your troubles have been related to an improper protocol and not to DMSA specifically. 25mgs is an easy place to start because Kirkman sells 25mg capsules. If you are nervous, you can certainly split the capsule and give only 12.5 mgs per dose for the first round or two. You can try to fight yeast with grapefruit seed extract, Candex (probably like Candidarrest), removing/reducing sugars and simple carbohydrates from the diet and avoiding yeast feeding supplements. Yeast is an unavoidable side effect from chelation but that doesn't mean it cannot be managed. I know people will offer other remedies. I am glad you are considering a new protocol. I think you will be happier as you see your child happier! Pam > > > > > > > > > > > > First consider whether the things this DAN doc is doing are useful, > > > > necessary, and helpful. Also I don't see DMSA listed.  Is that another name for it? Thanks!! A.Simon,  " I know God promises not to give me more than I can handle.  I just wish he didn't trust me so much. Guest guest
iHerb.com sells Candex. Yeast Aid is not the same thing. It contains natural antifungals. Candex is an enzyme that dissolves the outer coating on yeast cells so the immune system can disable them easier. Warning if you get the yeast aid, it tastes bad...so hopefully they are able to take the capsules. It works well though. DMSA..there isn't another name for it. You have to go to www.vrp.com to buy that. Jan > > > > > > > > > > > > > > First consider whether the things this DAN doc is doing are useful, > > > > > necessary, and helpful.
