Hi ,

I was incorrect with my dates... my mammogram is THURSDAY,12/31. My sister, who

was about my age (45) when diagnosed (she will be 51 Jan 9) has had the BRCA-1

test, and thankfully it was negative. My other sister was late 40's I believe

when dx'd (she is 57 now). My dad's sister died in the mid 70's of breast

cancer. He is of eastern European (Lithuanian) descent (thru his mom) and

possibly Russian thru his dad. When I was interviewed about the possibility of

being tested for the BRCA gene, one of the questions I was asked by the

researcher was if there was any chance of being a certain Russian Jew (I can't

recall what that name was). This had me frightened, as my immigrant grandparents

(very long since deceased)were fairly " secretive " about familial history. I just

feel it's all commected somehow.
