Wisdom, maybe? LOL, Pat K

Can't figure this out

We are supposed to go camping and canoeing this weekend and I don't want to go. Just found out that the water is not drinkable so we have to carry our own water - what a pain and we were going to canoe but now I not sure I want to do that if there is something with the lake.

We have not had good luck recently with our membership there.

And now my husband sister is coming so we will be at his parents house more than the campground. Does not soudn like fun to me.

But I still don't understand why I don't want to go

I am sure you are right, my MIL and I don't see eye to eye yet sometimes we can get along well. I don't want to miss the camping time with my family but I just want it to be us.

I don't like family functions - never have. My family was so dysfunctional that it usually ended up bad. Now that my parents are gone I don't have as many obligations to go to. Thank goodness - however this one just popped up on me about his sister coming.

I will go, but I am not looking forward to it.

Well, my experience has been that extended family is so good for children;

it makes them feel secure to have so many people to care about them. I

always went and smiled and kept my mouth shut and threw up afterward. LOL, LOL,

My kids had no idea that my MIL and I were not crazy about one another. The

amazing thing is I felt sad when she was dying and she is my role model for a

grandmother. She was a wonderful grandmother. I pray it won't be as bad as

you think it will be. Love and blessings, Pat K

I can empathsize with you Sharon, I too have had times where I just didn't want the extra stress that comes with going on an outing let alone having other people tag along as well. I usually drag myself out the door and spend the travelling time stressed out about what is going to happen. Usually we have a good time and things work out well, a few minor problems which are handled by all the family taking off me the stress that I would normally have to cope with on my own. My 2 daughters understand that it is very stressful on me and they pitch in to redirect just so I can have a good time too. I have found that going to new places and seeing new things really enjoys so that helps too. It's just getting out the door, very stressful but it all works out in the end. Make the most of it and do try to have some fun.

Debbie.

I've got a situation I can't quite figure out. It is either an allergy or an

infection of some type, but I don't know what is going to help me

distinguish the difference.

Small red bumps on the lower extremities. Mostly on the top skin of the feet

and above the ankles. But going all the way up to the mid thighs.

Varying in spacing and size. But similar to a pimple or bug bite. Very

itchy.

Only things that I can think of that may be an allergic reaction are:

Bounce fabric Softener. Or, a new morning energy blend with strawberries,

honey, spinach, grapes, blueberries. ( There has not been a problem with

these things in the past, but maybe because of the daily amounts, things

might have changed).

The infection could be anything from a buried herpes, to bacteria, or

something else.

I could try a high dose vitamin A protocol to test if there is an

infection. But that still may not prove anything. So right now, I just

don't know what step to take to discover the route of the problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

When Bounce came in (was it in the 70s or 80s?) there were reports there

was minute amounts of mercury in it. I can't remember so clearly but

whatever it was, we made a mental note not to buy it. Maybe things have

changed since....

Mel,

You should quit using them. Buy an unscented laundry soap too.

http://www.insidershealth.com/article/fabric_softener__toxic_/3485

They have chemicals chloroform, pentance and benzyl acetate are

all known to cause damage to lungs, nerves and the brain; some

chemicals are even known carcinogens.

When heated, the chemicals from fabric softener sheets stick

to clothing and effect those

around them as well. The release of these chemicals into the body

through the clothing happens slowly.

Tired for no

reason

Dizziness

Headaches

Sick stomach

Feeling faint

Difficulty

concentrating or remembering

Anxiety

Difficulty

breathing

Twitching or spontaneous  movements

Rashes

on areas touched by clothing

OK;

I will stop tell my wife to stop using Bounce. But what if that is not the

problem?

What about Borax (or Boraxo), that is about as unscented as you can get.

Bounce is reknowned for problems. My husband got an all over body rash from

Bounce many years back. He is not the sensitive type!

Mel,

We're saying any fabric softener is a problem. If it doesn't clear up, look at

other

causes.

Baking soda and vinegar is what we used. That's about as safe as you can get.

They are both suppose to be gentle.
