Guest guest
Hi Janice, you will have to work extra hard not to have this upset your mental well being and it could be a bit of a challenge. I went over a year before I got truly depressed, but by then the pain was so intense that I could hardly get out of bed each day and the threat of losing my fingers sent me over the edge. I have 2 children who expect their mother to be active and well and a husband who is, well a challenge and the only person that didn't expect me to ever recover. For me the meds didn't work but i finally found a system of wellness that has been very successful for me. I wonder have you tried various diet changes to enhance your health. Have you tried adding a quality nutritional product daily to help bring your immune system into sync? Or considered the impact stress has on your health and found a successful way to deal with stress? These are some of the things I've addressed and today I am fully functional again, without medication. I'd be happy to speak with you anytime, if you are interested in a holistic approach, or in a less threatening manner you could come to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Exercise and Diet Forum (RED) and read what we are all discussing there. Guest guest
I was tired at first when I took the methotrexate. After reading on this list about using more folic acid I checked with my doctor and increased the folic acid to 2 mg per day instead of one. I am now tolerating the methotrexate quite well and can see that it is helping my hands. I am now ready to increase the MTX dose to 6 tablets this week. Took 5 last week for the second time and felt fine the next day. Posie in MI
