Guest guest
I was disabled as a child, my father then died and so I received adult child benefits, nd got VR to help me get through college. I tried to work during college, and did a little, and after getting my masters, tried again, and only got a 1/2 time job, at minimum wages. I did that for two years, then my hus, a USAF officer was sent to live in Europe, so I did the full time mommy thing, when we came back 2 years later, I was more disabled, needed many joint replacements since then and multiple eye surf=geries due to the JRA....when he left me and I ttried to get SSI or SSD, couldn't get SSD because the years I was in college counted against me! I was/am floored! I did what I should have done- furthered my education, but SS counts those as years I " should " have been working, so when they looked at my points, I had almost none! After appealing, and eight years, they finally approved me for a very small amount of SSD, but Medicare included. Years in ft college, should not count against someone! Anyone here have a good handle on Medicare part D?
