Guest guest
Klaires has vitaspectrum which is iron & copper free. If you're looking for a multi-vitamin only without minerals, you can order their multi-vitamin complex which is soy free. I'm trying to bring down the amount of pills I open and drop into her juice (today close to 25) because she is refusing to take it (tastes pretty gross, can't blame her). so if I could just do multivit, multimin (which would cover about 15 pills)and add the extra biotin, antifungals, GABA, carnitine, taurine, etc she needs, that would be super. what do you all think ? and any suggestions of the best multivitamin and multimineral - iron and copper free? thanks all, Lupe
Guest guest
I don't think that most multivitamin/mineral supplements have the proper amounts of each supplement that they need. I personally, sit down once a week and measure out how much of each supplement my kids need and put it into pill baggies and then separate those into the 4 times a day that I give it to them. So, the breakfast baggie has Vit E, C, magnesium, zinc, enzymes, the lunch one has the same minus the E, etc. I also only give them a couple of ounces of juice and let them drink it with a straw. It seems to help with the taste. > > hi all, > we're starting chelation soon with my 3.9 year old daughter - it's taken forever to get her and us ready for this, and I'm struggling with the supplements. Guest guest
That's exactly what we do. We start with Jarrow Multi-Easy, because it covers most stuff and tastes good, and then add in GSE, biotin, Zinc, digestive enzymes, and milk thistle. Our own custom multi.... We give it to the boys throughout the day and then give them probiotics in the evening after a little break. Guest guest
awesome, thanks TJ ! sounds a lot more feasible than what we are doing, and sustainable long term. all the best, Lupe > > That's exactly what we do. Guest guest
Hello; We are also just getting ready to chelate our daughter 3 years and 11 months. I am reading very conflicting recommendations on dosaging. Cutler suggests 1/8 to 1/4 of their weight in mg. Dr. Amy Holmes - 9 to 13 mg per lb. and the doctor/author of " Children with Starving Brains " suggests 50 mg every 4 hours. My daughter is 30 lbs. It seems to be that the two autism docs are about the same, but Cutler's dosing seems significantly lower. Did I read it wrong? I don't want there to be any misinterpretation in the dosing. Please let me know what you are using for your daughter. Thanks, Surinder ________________________________ From: mamadelfi <guadalupemillan@...> Sent: Mon, June 14, 2010 12:13:19 PM Subject: [ ] Re: starting chelation - supplement advice awesome, thanks TJ ! sounds a lot more feasible than what we are doing, and sustainable long term. all the best, Lupe > > That's exactly what we do. Guest guest
You did not read it wrong. The other two doctors are DAN! doctors, and their idea of a safe dose is far different than what Andy Cutler (PhD chemist) feels is a safe dose. Go with the safer dose; the more cautious approach based on chemistry and physiology. I started with 1/4 mg per lb, but many start lower. Using the higher doses (surprised Dr. McCandless says every 4 hours; good for her) won't get you to the finish line that much faster, but will make for a bumpier ride with more symptoms and perhaps regressions. Happy chelating. Pam > > > > That's exactly what we do. Guest guest
I will be starting with 1/8 of her weight DMSA only, then add ALA at same low dose, and slowly up it up to 1/4. I don't feel comfortable with the higher doses from what I've read (including Amalgam Illness). > > > > That's exactly what we do. Guest guest
We have done AC for a year for our 3yr old 30pnd ds. We give 1/2 of his weight. He has had few issues with it. One time he had diarrhea, and another time he had bronchitis, we stopped for a few weeks. He has not gained weight over the last 9 months however. > > > > > > That's exactly what we do.
