DMSA for children without a DR. supervision?

Hi I am new to the group.

I am looking into the best way to use chelation for my two NT kids with severe

gut issues. We have been SCD for over one year and I believe that prevented

them from developing autism. They have immune issues also and I strongly

suspect their guts will not fully heal until I deal with metals.

We do not have access to a DAN doctor and we have limited resources financially

as we are living on one income.

What would be the best options for me to consider? Would it be very unwise for

me to use DMSA without a doctor? I plan on low and slow with whatever method I

choose.

Thanks

Hi

I would recommend you get Dr. Sears new book called " The Autism Book " .  He

wrote it for families who want  to treat as much on their own as they can.

Limiting tests and doc. visits and vitamin and supp. protocol is all in there

for you to do by yourself.  He tells you when you must see a doc for specific

things, but most of the time he tells you how to do it on your own.  It's the

best $15. I ever spent.  Even better than Dr. Bocks book.

Welcome to the group. You do not need a DAN dr to chelate. As a matter of fact,

they are costly and can use some harmful chelation methods.

Please read about the Andy Cutler method of chelation in the files section here

on the list.

DMSA and ALA (Alpha Lipoic Acid) are not very expensive and can be purchased

OTC.

vrp.com for DMSA and Kirkman Labs for ALA.

You are right about the gut. It will never heal until you get the metals out.

Hi

I just wanted to chime in to share that I am in the same boat. I just purchased

my DMSA and ALA and a good multi-mineral to get started hopefully this Thursday.

We have been GFCFSFEF for 2 years now. I have three kids that I want to

chelate. One who was showing signs of PDD-NOS and the other two are NT with

reflux and severe mood swings. We do not have a doctor so I also will be very

cautious. I have Andy's book but I am off to get the Sears book as well. Thank

you for posting! Best of luck to you and welcome !!

Thank you all for your input, it is very much appreciated. I am trepidatious

each time we try something new for the kiddos, but am eager to get started as

soon as I have all the info together.

Hi ,

Welcome to the group. Many of us here chelate without a doc. You can buy DMSA

without a prescription from www.vrp.com The important thing to know and follow

is the low and slow chelation based on half life referred to here as AC (Andy

Cutler) protocol. If the kids have ANY mercury amalgam dental fillings those

need to be removed safely according to proper protocol before chelation.
