Guest guest
I've heard that rice milk may contain arsenic. Anyone else with this information? I also had patients that had arsenic in their (well water) drinking water. Guest guest
Yes, apparently from the fertilizer or some other chemical used in the agriculture of rice.. we have started to switch to Dari-Free because of it (which has titanium dioxide in it..) not sure which is worse. Guest guest
I can only get rice milk down my guy. Allergic so soy, which I wouldn't do anyway, but nut allergy too. Dari Free makes great hot chocolate and ice cream but he won't make the switch there for daily drinking. I just have to push water. Tammy Re: [ ] Chelating Arsenic: Which is the best chelator? Guest guest
ALA and DMPS chelate arsenic. Look through the files, links, FAQ, and Andy Cutler's 2 books for how to chelate properly. TTFD is a poison and should never be used. Guest guest
Same thing here too Tammy.. soy and nut allergies for my guy.. I might make my own rice milk with organic rice.. I got ½ done one batch one time.. But Dari-free icecream and hot chocolate make me so excited! (soy and dairy allergy for me too.. and almond milk (Pacific) is good on cereal but makes a brutal icecream and I cant share even if it did). Guest guest
He's tested positive to all tested, walnuts, hazelnuts, pecans and peanuts. Pretty sure how it's gone. We just don't do them PERIOD. No use trying either and not worth a reaction to see. His highest reaction in either blood or skin testing has been to soy and peanuts, both part of the legume family. He even had issues via breast milk. Tammy [ ] Re: Chelating Arsenic: Which is the best chelator? Is he allergic to all nuts or specific to some? Guest guest
When we hit the food allergy at 9 months of age, like 6 years ago, rice was most " affordable " and doable. Hemp didn't exists in my world only until a few months ago I spotted it here. Way expensive. Allergic to oats and babies with a soy/dairy, few may be able to go to goat milk. But goats milk, WOW, cost again, years ago when we were looking for safe milk for a nine month old. He wouldn't even drink neocate. I ended up with rice milk and added coconut from the can, one that had the highest amount of fat. He thrived and did great but was scary times. Especially because our allergist, I think we've one the award for the most food allergies. Back then met with a nutritionist, I knew more than her from what I'd learned on the internet. Anyway...he's alive and doing great. I spent so much time reading and learning! An amazing journey many of your have shared too. I've been buying the organic rice milk from Rice Dream, I'm just praying it will have to be good enough. Having two kids with special needs, supplements, well, you all know the money and time it takes. I will just have to do. I have Dairy Free in the house all the time, that's his ice cream and hot chocolate. Tammy [ ] Re: Chelating Arsenic: Which is the best chelator? I agree.
