Guest guest
i am new to the group and was struck by susan's response to the prednisone post as i feel desperate for help with my six-year-old daughter's asthma. in addition to immune system dysfunction, she has apraxia, allergies, gut malabsorption, cdiff, yeast, etc. we have been gfdairy free (+staying away from igg sensitivities as much as possible) and doing biomedical for 1 1/2 years, with no big wows (kirkman super nu thera, zinc, magnesium, pycogenol, cd biotic, coq10, carnitall, renwlife critical care, lauricidin, mb12, cd herbal, nystatin, vitamin c, a, and d, nourish life speak oil, claritin among others). (considering lysine per genova oat test rec and glutamine). over the past two months, she has had multiple pneumonias, a hospitalization, and asthma that doesn't seem to quit. we have been using way too much albuterol (and have generally since she was 2 years old) and go back and forth on pulmicort (she was on it a year plus in 2007). it didn't seem to help, but we are getting a lot of pressure to go back on it again. we started it a few weeks ago temporarily. in any event, we are considering chelation based upon 2 porphyrin tests (preco 16 and 21/copro 191 and 127). mercury toxicity seems a little iffy given the copro # which is within range. we also did the genova oat test with results that i could share if they are any clues... we have ordered the hair test to get further information. (by the way our dan states that the preco # isn't as indicative of mercury as once thought based on a new robert woods paper/study. i haven't seen it yet.) can you, susan, or anyone else, tell me what helped your child's asthma? any advice on what we can do right now for her? her breathing has been so bad lately, that i worry we won't make it to chelating if that is what we decide to do... did chelating help your asthma? i would greatly appreciate any experienced advice anyone could share. thank you. At my house, asthma was caused by milk intolerance [and a few other things] and yeast in the lungs. The yeast was the worst. >>(kirkman super nu thera, lauricidin, mb12, vitamin c, a, and d, (considering lysine All of these caused a lot of yeast here. If I did most or all of these at the same time, my son would have required a massive yeast protocol. > over the past two months, she has had multiple pneumonias, a hospitalization, and asthma that doesn't seem to quit. More yeast here. >>we are considering chelation This was the first step in finally eliminating yeast overgrowth here, but during the first 50 rounds, it *increased* yeast. Definitely need to get the yeast under control before starting. > can you, susan, or anyone else, tell me what helped your child's asthma? Asthma entirely eliminated here, primarily with ALA chelation, anti-virals, biotin and GSE for yeast control, and a few other things. No asthma symptoms for two years now. >>any advice on what we can do right now for her? Try increasing the yeast protocol. The combination of biotin and GSE worked best here. Guest guest
I cannot help on the yeast issues because we have only treated topically with nystatin because the school was keeping diapers on my son, which caused a huge diaper rash. In regards to the Asthma, this is what we did. -Stopped the pulmicort (my son has an immune deficency and this only served to lower his immune system further making him more susceptible) -Withdrew him from public school (rather he became homebound per MD orders.) -Limit his germ exposure by limiting the *TIME* he is out around others (another MD order) and how many people he is exposed to. -Asked people (therapists, dotors, relatives, friends) if they were sick OR had been recently sick...if so, we did not go or they did not come. -Vitamins (lil critters and extra C, same company) -Kept him well. If he started to get sick, we hopped on antivirals or probiotics. -And one I did not *try* to do, is do not keep your house squeeky clean. The doctor told me this was actually good because exposure to our *own* germs is healthy. -Oh yeah, and the fewer the medicines your child is on, the better. If it is not life-sustaining (AB's are usually not life sustaining), then he/we do not take it. > > i am new to the group and was struck by susan's response to the prednisone post as i feel desperate for help with my six-year-old daughter's asthma. in addition to immune system dysfunction, she has apraxia, allergies, gut malabsorption, cdiff, yeast, etc. we have been gfdairy free (+staying away from igg sensitivities as much as possible) and doing biomedical for 1 1/2 years, with no big wows (kirkman super nu thera, zinc, magnesium, pycogenol, cd biotic, coq10, carnitall, renwlife critical care, lauricidin, mb12, cd herbal, nystatin, vitamin c, a, and d, nourish life speak oil, claritin among others). Guest guest
My daughter's asthma has been improving with acupuncture. I found a great Japanese acupuncturist who does not use needles but magnets to move the energy and then applies acupressure. He then puts this small stickers with a tiny yellow magnet in it just for 24 hours. When asthma was bad I would go twice a week. I live in Boston, MA. You need to find one who treats children. Guest guest
> Dana, > " At my house, asthma was caused by milk intolerance [and a few other things] and > yeast in the lungs. About four years ago or so, I noticed that sometimes when I had an asthma attack, I also had yeast symptoms. So I took GSE. I was surprised to discover that the GSE eliminated the asthma attack also. So the next time I felt an asthma attack coming on, I immediately took some GSE. Asthma attack went away. > Any tests or specific symptoms to look for?? > My son also having a breathing problem, not sure its yeast or something else... For about a year, milk also gave me asthma attacks. So your child's asthma might be related to a food. But yeast was a big one here. Keep going on the biomedical. I have no more asthma here, because of biomedical. Dana
