Please call NY Senators today for autism health insurance reform

Please call NY Senators today for autism health insurance reformTake?Action!

Your calls make a difference?Your telephone calls are desperately needed today

to the members of the New York Senate Insurance Committee. Please let them know

that you support Senate Bill S6123, the autism health insurance reform bill

supported by the autism community.

?

S 6123 would put into law that insurers regulated by the state must provide

specific services.? The Autism Speaks bill, S7000, that was introduced next week

provides no solid guarantees for any services.

?

S 7000 is supported by Senator Neil Breslin, the Chair of the Senate Insurance

Committee. Negotiators for the autism community will be meeting with Sen.

Breslin and others today to negotiate for guaranteed healthcare for the autism

community. We need your help.

?

Please call the following Senators today and let them know that you want New

York law to guarantee coverage of healthcare for people with autism. Vague

promises that a committee in the future may approve services are simply not good

enough.

?

Some of the Senators below have endorsed S6123, the bill the autism community

wants, some have endorsed S 7000, the Autism Speaks bill, some have endorsed

both, and some have endorsed neither bill.

?

When you call please be polite and respectful and let them know that you support

S6123, because you want New York law to guarantee access to healthcare for

people with autism.

?

And click on the Take Action button above to send an email to your own Senator

and member of the Assembly telling him of her that you support S6123 in the

Senate and the A6888, the identical bill in the Assembly.

?

This will be a very important week in this effort so please be ready to do what

you can to help us all.

?

Please pass this message on to family, friends and co-workers and please post it

to Face Book, My Space and other online spaces.

?
