Guest guest
I am not an expert--but was told brown poop you are keeping yeast down and yellow they are winning or vise versa--- From: mosaictm <lisa369@...> Subject: [ ] Verbal Stims making me crazy! Date: Thursday, October 14, 2010, 9:53 AM Â Hello all, We've been chelating for over a year and half with excellent results. My son is 7, fully verbal, highly gifted, well on the way to recovery - very close. In the past month or two, he has developed near constant verbal stimming. I pulled him off all his supps for a supplement break - thinking maybe he no longer needed something. It didn't stop. I started adding things back in, it didn't stop. He is annoyed with it, he says he is aware he does it, but not why he does it. I home school, and I'm losing my mind! I used to just use the iPod when he would scream or what have you, when he was severe. But I need to be able to hear to teach him. Any input? He also has some yellowish poop lately. Beautifully formed, no diarrhea, no constipation, no texture issues - just color is yellow. (He is on 500 mg taurine a day, as well as mag, C, milk thistle). Please anyone who can offer any suggestions - I'm dying for some peace and quiet!
Guest guest
I hear you. Mine stopped all stimming at age four and then the verbal stims came back and have gotten worse. It drives me crazy sometimes too! I asked my son why he does that and he said, " Because I like it! " I think it clams him down and it is some magical way of transferring the anxiety to ME! Sometimes I designate the den as a " stim free zone. " He can stim, but he cannot be in the den when he stims. His choice. It works. But I know there is some biomedical reason for this; I just need to figure it out. It is my opinion that yellow poop is bilirubin coming from the liver, but it could be the milk thistle detoxing the liver. Others on this list would know more. I'd like to know for sure as the same happens with my son.
Guest guest
My youngest had what I thought was verbal stims. Used to drive me crazy during the day and I'd go to bed with a dull headache every night because it just really works your nerves. I'm not sure if this is your son, but it turned out to be more verbal tics for my son, which was one of the symptoms for PANDAS. His verbal tics/stims diminished by 50% with high doses of OLE. Something benign to try. If you have some success with this, I would consider viral. Dana had great success with treating viral issues with OLE. Just a thought.. > > Hello all, > > We've been chelating for over a year and half with excellent results. Guest guest
I feel for you! My son is a BIG TIME verbal stimmer! I felt so bad the other day because I had a MIGRAINE and he was just verbally stimming non stop so, I asked him to please stim in my bedroom OR his bedroom, where he usually likes to go to stim but he got upset, I felt SO bad, I told him, " I'm SO sorry if I hurt your feelings, I didn't mean to sweetie it's just that Mommy's head hurts really badly and the stimming is making my head hurt more " , he said, " It's OK, Mom, I'm sorry, I'm not mad " , the stimming calmed down but boy, the guilt that I felt/feel is tremendous because I know it's not his fault, it's something he has to do every day, a lot of the day. Sometimes you can tune it out but sometimes it does drive you nuts!! Vicki 's Mommy HFA 13 years old In a message dated 10/14/2010 7:23:25 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time, hdelay@... writes: I hear you. Guest guest
We dealt with PANDAS in the past, with OLE. He actually had an OCD dx at one time, though no longer. I hadn't considered it was a PANDAS flare. Maybe I'll try OLE again and see if that takes care of it. > > > > Hello all, > > > > We've been chelating for over a year and half with excellent results. Guest guest
I'm making my way through the book, " ENZYMES FOR AUTISM " by DeFelice. Have been finding this book quite helpful. Mercury interrupts enzyme production, and so many of us know the connection between a damaged gut, candida, bacterial infection, and virus' that result in neurological symptoms. Enzymes have turned out to be a valuable supplement to use in all of these instances. Included in results from proper enzyme supplementation is a return of typical stool color and texture. I had a bout of brain fog and body aches from eating the wrong things. Thought I'd just suffer through. Started reading this book and used enzymes 'the right way' for the first time. Brain fog and pain went away. There is a long list of positive results from using enzymes. I think this book is well worth the time it takes to read, even with the exhaustion most of us experience caring for our special needs children. I'm personally thrilled that now my boy and I can go out apple picking, have an ice cream, and later have a grilled cheese sandwich all in the same day with no ill effects the next day, or week so long as I keep the enzymes coming. I never expected to be able to see these results. You can imagine my pleasure. I wish with all my heart that someone here can also find this information as useful as I have. The root causes of enzyme problems still need to be addressed. In the mean time they need to be replaced. Most Sincerely, Theodora > > In the past month or two, he has developed near constant verbal stimming. > > > Describe exactly what the stim is. Guest guest
Of course there is a biomedical reason for it, it's called mercury poisoning. Nothing a couple hundred rounds of chelation won't take care of.... Guest guest
I gave 250 mg/3x per day for a 40# kid. Dana's site has lots of info. on symptoms and dosages she used. In my home, if OLE doesn't have any affect after a certain amount of time, I would think your child may have a different problem than viral, like yeast. Guest guest
I noticed a lot of posts trying to address your issue here but I haven't read them, especiallly. We gave our 130 lb son 100 mg of 5-HTP in the morning and the same in the evening and found that pretty well took care of the verbal stims (a clucking sound, from the back of the throat, mostly, in our case) better than anything else. Oh, we were looking for and trying things for the longest time. It apparently calms them down how needed. It's easy to get and try and not very expensive. Get the stuff where you would get any other supplements. Best doin', Mike > > Hello all, > > We've been chelating for over a year and half with excellent results. Guest guest
We have always used Houston's AFP chewable with great success. Enaymes are one of those things where things can get worse for a bit, before they get better. > > > > In the past month or two, he has developed near constant verbal stimming. > > > > > > > > > Describe exactly what the stim is. Guest guest
One of the suggestions is to use what can be tolerated. Starting at low amounts and going up as tolerated. there is also an initial adjustment period where an exacerbation of symptoms is shown then noticeable improvements. It's a healing scenario. The book has much information in it. In my book I've highlighted the areas that are of use to us. I imagine you might highlight differently according to your situation. That's why I mentioned reading the book. Before learning from this book I didn't know how to read potency or which enzymes to use when. Now that I do I am gaining positive results. I wish the same for all the moms and dads here. Best wishes, Theodora > > > > In the past month or two, he has developed near constant verbal stimming. > > > > > > > > > Describe exactly what the stim is. Guest guest
Hi TJ, My daughter has the verbal stims as described. I am having problem to control her yeast since we start giving her supplements a year ago. ( i thought is yeast all the while and doesn't relate it to mercury). Her mercury level from hair test is off the chart. Can i proceed with the chelation even though i have yet to get the verbal stims/ yeast under control ? Have been very unpatience to start chelation. Thank you, Regards, ________________________________ From: TJ Werth <tj_werth@...> Sent: Saturday, October 16, 2010 0:46:18 Subject: Re: [ ] Verbal Stims making me crazy! Guest guest
Dana, You rock. This was not how yeast had typically presented in my son over the past 3 years. But this IS how it presented this time. I increased the yeast protocol - got him swallowing GSE tabs instead of fighting with GSE drops and added oil of oregano and increased probiotics and within 2 days it was done. NO MORE VERBAL STIMS!! Yippee! Sanity is back. Thank you so much. My son would not be where he is today without you. I nominate you for sainthood. > > Verbally whooping, making car vrooming noises, beeping noises, singing parts of songs over and over, sometimes sort of animal noises, humming - classical music, but still!
