Guest guest
Milk, dairy and SOY free. Can not find soy free again this year. Have in past. Any one have any luck? Enjoy Life chocolate chips are safe. Can I just melt in those cute molds and make my own? Will that work? I can get Enjoy Life candy bars and chips here locally. This is for my nt 7.5 food allergy guy who has had more reactions this week. One in school in art, first contact reaction he's had in all his school years. Weird! Now we've been doing green tea since he gets no soda for a treat. Tummy ache last night! Gurrrrrrrr.....I'm so ready to pop the bubble on no easter bunny etc...... It's hard! Thanks Tammy
Guest guest
My son can't have milk, gluten, or corn. We get the Trader Joe's Marshmallow Treats (like Rice Krispie Treats) and they also have little bags of Dried Bananas that he likes that are yummy. Also Disney now has some dried fruit snacks that Walmart sells that are safe. So we just do non-chocolate treats for easter and he doesn't mind as long as he has things he likes to eat in his basket and some little toys or a DVD or something. He is 8. I don't think the Trader Joe's Marshmallow treats have soy, but I don't think they do. I don't have any in the house right now to check. They are good! > > Milk, dairy and SOY free. Guest guest
http://tinyurl.com/preview.php?num=yecfr9v This link is from 2009, but I'm pretty sure it lists numerous companies that sell gluten/dairy free easter treats. You'll have to check further on the soy. I'm guessing they sell out quickly. Pam > > > > Milk, dairy and SOY free. Can not find soy free again this year. Have in past. Guest guest
Soy!!!! So frustrating. There was a company, not last year but the year before, had it! Paid dearly but........ I do a lot of non candy type foods, our egg hunt has coins in them. Guest guest
Soy free is harder to find. If it's dairy free most tend to replace it with soy. Enjoy life is the only chocolate our son can handle. The Trader Joe's marshmallow treats are soy free, but have evaporated cane juice if your child's yeast is high.  We use dried fruit leathers, gummy fruits if are okay, or coin money too. My son's 11 accepted his diet it in time. Guest guest
Hi Tammy I have found the same problem and no solution. I know my husband tried to buy me some chocolate for valentines that was soy and dairy free. I will pick him brain when he gets home, but it does say may contain traces.. and I did react to it, but it could of also been the corn in it. So its probably no use. I think melting enjoylife chocolate chips and finding some sort of mold is the best bet. Could also make chocolate dipped marshmallows.. I didn’t bother much with chocolate buying this easter because cocoa itself is something that causes a reaction with ds… a nice drawn out two day reaction. But naturalcandystore.com has been where I got the rest of the Easter treats. Good Luck and fill me in if you do find something. I know how frustrating chocolate is!! Guest guest
Tammy, Yes, it is hard I'm right there in the trenches w/you! We use Enjoy Life chips and melt them down into fun shapes. We have even added a pinch of sea salt on top of the coin shapes that we make. The salty-sweet taste is a super treat for us here Another great option is The Natural Candy Store. I have been very pleased with their products. They even have corn syrup-free candy, which has been terribly difficult for us to find. Their site is super user friendly. On the main page is a key that defines each of the icons they use to represent if the candy is GF, kosher, vegan, allergen-free, Feingold stage I or II, etc. http://www.naturalcandystore.com Hope you find something special for your little man Blessings, ~Robin ==> " Tammy Kuhn " <tkuhn1@...> wrote: Milk, dairy and SOY free. Guest guest
This is a homemade option for you. You can buy Enjoy Life semi sweet chocolate chips and melt it with alittle bit of palm oil shortening and put it into bunny shaped candy molds and refrigerate them. The Enjoy Life chocolate chips don’t have gluten, casein, corn, or soy. They are yummy. I dip strawberries in the melted chocolate and them set up beautifully also. Happy Easter. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of mjmjlucas Sent: Tuesday, March 16, 2010 10:51 AM Subject: [ ] Re: ot: Safe chocolate for Easter? My son can't have milk, gluten, or corn. Guest guest
Robin, What a wonderful resource. Thank you for posting the link. I've added cayenne to our chocolate. Nuts, sea salt, and certain spices really make chocolate fun. Luckily, my son actually prefers dark, dark chocolate (70% cocoa and higher). Pam > Milk, dairy and SOY free. Guest guest
Robin Teraza gave me The Natural Candy Store info and I placed an order last night. Amazing the cost but oh well! HATE IT! I'll have to see if I can find my candy shape kit and give it a try melting down Enjoy Life chips. At least they make a candy bar and they are cheaper at my local store than on line last night. Guest guest
I thought of that google last night and actually looked at their web site. Their chocolate has dairy. But thanks, appreciate it! This is why I love the internet! Tammy [ ] Re: ot: Safe chocolate for Easter? try http://www.soyfreesales.com/ karla > Milk, dairy and SOY free. Can not find soy free again this year. Have in past.
