Guest guest
Hi Carla, You sound like me. My feet are mostly affected. The other areas come and go, my feet are are the worst. Funny thing though that struck me about your post...I too have been having cysts since being diagnosed. I actually had to have an abcessed one surgically removed this past spring, it was in the groin /lower abdomen area. I just had another one that seems to have ruptured /disappeared on it's own. I never contributed that to my RA, makes me wonder now. I sure know I never had any cysts before. > > I worry about long term effects too.....I'm going into my 2nd year taking > all this stuff....and looking back over my records.....I've been in and out > of my GP's office over and over and over for upper Resp infections...... > and Having HUGE pimple type critters popping up all over....and man do they > hurt.....cyst type things.....drives me crazy... > On the other hand.....I can walk again....not pain free....but walking > hobbling....lol. > > It's a catch 22 life eh? > Carla > > -- > .-.. .-.. > ( o )_( o ) > __ / '-' '-' \ __ > / / " \ \ > | \ \___/ / | > \ \`-. ____ .-' / / > - ' /\ /\ '-. > ( (_// (_ _) \\_) ) > frogge >
Guest guest
I never had them before either.....which tells me it's either Med related or RA...or both...lol. I've had some lanced....OUCH...lol....they clear up some if I'm on antibiotics...then come right back afterwards. And under the skin where they are harder to get too....(@@). My poor Husband is my lancer.....He said he married me for better or worse....but he wasn't too sure he liked that part LOL. I can't afford to go to the Docs with them all the time....so he lances and I doctor em...it'll go away...and another will pop up somewhere else. Carla > > Hi Carla, You sound like me. Guest guest
Omg that is too funny. That's just how mine are too. I remember last spring when I got the 1st real nasty one (it had ruptured under the skin and absessed before we even knew what it was) but I was put on antibiotics 3 times...to try to clear up any infection as they thought it was a swollen lymph node at first and then did the surgery not sure what they were going to find and here it was this cyst. It was strange. And now I've learned they keep coming & going. *sigh* > > > > Hi Carla, You sound like me. My feet are mostly affected. Guest guest
--I am frustrated with this whole med process. I am taking methotrexate and prednisone till the methotrexate starts to work. I also suffer bipolar disorder and it has been made worse by the prednisone. But where would I be without it? I think back even a few weeks and I can remember how much more pain I was in. Instead the prednisone is causing an agitated mania. I am getting bizarre dreams that upset me alot. My psychiatrist has increased my seroquel an additional 50 mg and I know I will have to increase it again. I looked at my pills and I realized I am taking 14 meds. I have high blood pressure and take nexium to counteract the stomach problems from all my meds. I really cannot see that this mixture of meds can be good in the long term. I honestly do not expect to live past 65 and I am 42 now. All these meds are going to eventually kill me but I feel so good when they all work. What is a girl to do? Guest guest
Sorry to hear things are a bit rough now. Take heart, it can take time for things to start working well, and then some adjustments may be needed. I'm doing great since the meds stabilized my condition.
